A little late but this is the text of the preceding Link - old as it is now! I hope I have not broken any forum rules by doing this!:- THE Midland and Southern Development Leagues have amalgamated to form one competition in 2019.
Definite starters this year are Birmingham, Carmarthen (at Stoke), Isle of Wight, Milton Keynes (at Birmingham), Plymouth and Reading (at Eastbourne), with the possibility of Weymouth being added if they can secure a home base.
Clubs must nominate squads of six riders and will meet home and away once during the season, with the title being decided on league points.
M+SDL co-ordinator Laurence Rogers said: “There was a lot of co-operation between the clubs at the AGM and the solution to amalgamate the two leagues was the most sensible.
“It is a pity that we have lost a few clubs, but the league will continue to offer young riders their first step into team and league racing.
“If you look at the long list of riders who started at this level from 2011 who progressed onto higher leagues then the Development League certainly has, and will continue, to do its job in British Speedway.”

I was pleased to read the item regarding this year's Development League system. I hope more will be done in 2020 in regard to coverage.

There were two Development Leagues as I understand it for 2019. The combined competition already mentioned and one in the North.

My head's spinning trying to fathom out what this Development League thread is about at the moment. Hopefully as things progress it will become more meaningful? Can any other forum member grasp what's happening and make some sort of clarification as to what's taking place PLEASE!!!

I think you can take a rest from all this Development League nonsense. They only held their AGM for this season in February. I expect things will again be the same in regard to 2020 plans so you have a pending more than two month respite Weird Wally.
