Cracking day in prospect at the Messiahlessdome this week as it's the Bears first up in the Young Shield followed by E***burgh in the Scottish cup . Jason Lyons will guest for us in place of the Messiah , and it will be weird seeing him in the stripes for the 1st time in 16 years . All indications are that young Braveheart will be joining me for these matches , but the question is will she be able to watch EL racing again after being to the Messiahdome and witnessing PL speedway at it's finest ( even without it's finest exponent on view )

Really enjoyed myself last night dispite the results. ML, I think PL racing is better anyway but we've only got Rye House down here Great to see all my friends again dispite some of them supporting the wrong team. I will definately be up again, Paulco. Maybe try to make it a few times next year (unless I put in for a posting to my homeland )

Some horrendous crashes today . First of all Phil Morris gets kicked out of the meeting for fencing David McAllan . Then in Ht 15 against the Brummies - a match winning 5-1 was blasted apart when, on the very last bend , Robert Ksiezak picked up grip which threw him right over the fence . The worst however came in Ht 15 against Stoke when Chris Schramm spun 360 degrees causing the following Lee Complin to clip his machine and catapult him through the air , over the fence , and into the wall in front of the bar . Hope to christ the lad is okay . A 43-46 reverse against Birmingham and a 43-41 win against Stoke ( in which there was some terrific racing in both meetings ) was overshadowed by the crashes . The Complin one being one of the most frightning looking i've ever saw .

Very rare to see a rider excluded from the whole meeting - last one I can immediately recall is Zetterstrom at Newcastle. Sad to hear that Complin took a bad one - such a wonderfully entertaining rider. Let's hope all the injured are okay.

Grand Monarch was the ref and he loves contraversy . Probably done Morris a favour though as he might have got lynched .

Oh come on Paulco even one of the tigggerati on the BSF is commending Jim McGregor with his handling of both meetings.
Give credit where it is due. It ain't that bitter a pill to swallow you know ;D

I shudder to think what would have happened though if instead of Phil Morris yesterday - the pantomime villian had been Desperate Deek
