It's holiday weekend in Glasgow and hopefully we'll have some speedway to enjoy . Tomorrow it's the Redcar Bears in town with Tigers legend James Grieves in their side along with some over the hill ex-world champion . So no doubt the rain gods are filling the clouds up i type this . And we've slipped another meeting in on Monday tea-time just to confuse the rain . It's the easy-rider potters complete with pink-haired numptie Ben Barker and Danish nutjob Claus Vissing and maybe/maybe not - Australian last place wheelie champion Rusty Harrison ( asuming he's not been sacked ) . Two meetings in two days to enjoy at the Messiahdome . And as i'm at the hospitality again tomorrow it may be a long day . ;D

But there's disaster for the heathen Tigers as the Messiah crashes out in Ht 3 and must be a major doubt for tomorrow's meeting with the Potters. Redcar's Grieves also crashed out in Ht 3 and was taken to hospital, while Parker was able to walk away - let's hope it's nothing too serious with Grieves. Glasgow won the meeting, but the "over-the-hill ex-world champion" walked away with a maximum.

Aye the messiah gave us all a wee fright yesterday . And he wont ride against the Potters today . So we will have to use a guest - possibly Kauko Neiminen back in Tigers colours . But apart from our glorious leader coming to grief this was a fantastic speedway meeting , which we just won by the skin of our teeth after looking comfortable at one point . And , yes , the over the hill ex-world champ took advantage of the Messiah's absence to race to an easy maximum .

Best wishes to both riders, is it just me or are riders sustaining more serious injuries, what I mean is before you heard of broken collar bones or scaphoids regularly now it seems to be multiple injuries or worse.

It appears to be nothing worse than both of them being a bit battered and bruised . Could have been so much worse though . Dont think the rain will allow us to have the 2nd home meeting this weekend . Pishing again .

Glad to hear that both James and Shane have avoided serious injury. I don't know how many mirrors Glasgow have broken but they seem to have appalling luck with rain offs this season
