SOUTH LONDON PRESS, issue dated Friday March 18, 2016. From your newsagent. Toby Porter, sports editor of the SLP writes: "There is a full page dedicated to the final stocks and rods meeting on Sunday, March 20 – a piece by Daniel Ruston about their history at Wimbledon from 1962, when the late Les Eaton of Spedeworth brought them to the stadium, to the likes of Derek Warwick, Martin Brundle and, er, Stirling Moss racing there. "There is also a piece by Derek Barclay about speedway there; and by myself (Toby Porter) about the second last meeting last weekend on Sunday, March 13. (I have lived within audible distance of the engines for 20 years and went last weekend and spoke to a couple of people). There are also some good pictures. Your South London area newsagent should have a copy for sale.
