CURRENTLY ON THE SCUNTHORPE WEBSITE:: ::::::::::: SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey has revealed that FluidAir Power Ltd, the main team sponsors of the Scorpions in 2014 and 2015, will revert to being associate sponsors in 2016.
Godfrey said: “FluidAir Power Ltd have always been good supporters of Scunthorpe Speedway. They were associate sponsors long before they decided to become main team sponsors.
“I thank them for that, and I appreciate their continuing support – it’s all invaluable in running both the speedway and maintaining and improving the stadium.
“I’m sure they gained good exposure from being Scorpions’ team sponsor for a couple of years, and I urge all supporters to get behind the companies that support us, including FluidAir.
“It’s not goodbye, as FluidAir remain on board as associate sponsors, something we are very happy about. We’ve already enjoyed a long, successful relationship with them and I hope that will continue for many more years.”
Godfrey is hopeful of revealing the main team sponsor for the 2016 Scorpions within the next few weeks.

From the SGB website::: :::::::::: SCUNTHORPE are set to recall Danish teenager Anders Lyager when Nicolai Klindt’s temporary spell with the club comes to an end.
Klindt will race for the Scorpions in the opening weeks of the season having agreed a deal to replace the retired Taylor Poole, but when his Polish commitments kick in Lyager should be accommodated in the line-up when fellow assessed-average rider Zdenek Holub achieves a true figure.
Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Andreas begged us to ride last season, so we gave him a go, and he showed he had what it takes.
“He went in at number three, which is a tough number to ride at, and he beat some quality riders. Despite coming in at a late stage of the season, which is never easy to do, he scored six, five and four from his three home meetings around the Eddie Wright Raceway.
“Andreas has built two new bikes and he is grateful and committed to come and do a good job for us.”

FROM THE SGB WEBSITE :::::::::
SCUNTHORPE have swooped for Danish duo Michael Palm Toft and Andreas Lyager in a double change ahead of their local derby with Sheffield on Sunday.
Both are former Scorpions riders with Palm Toft (pictured), a former title winner with the club in 2012, having become available following Peterborough’s signing of Craig Cook – whilst 18-year-old Lyager raced four matches for Scunthorpe last season. Zdenek Holub and temporary signing Ashley Morris make way in the line-up.
Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Michael is a quality performer, I don’t need to tell our fans that, and it’s great to have him back.
“He was actually at the Eddie Wright Raceway recently, because he’d been having a few early season mechanical issues and he wanted to come to practice and sort them out. Michael knows our track inside out.
“Andreas impressed us here at the end of last season, and we always intended to bring him back – we’d committed to that. The key has been putting together the side so that Carl Wilkinson goes back to reserve.”

From the SGB website: ::::: SCUNTHORPE have announced plans for an earlier start to home meetings in the forthcoming campaign.
The Scorpions will now run at the Eddie Wright Raceway at 5.30pm on Sundays, bringing the start forward by an hour from last season.
Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We’ve listened to the fans – it’s down to customer feedback. We were told that people would like to get home just a little bit sooner on a Sunday evening. And for those with children, it means that the kids can go off to bed earlier.
“I spoke with Graham (Trollope), our track curator, and it won’t make any difference to the track – we can prepare an excellent track for a 5.30pm start-time, just as we could last year at 6.30pm.”Attachments:

From the SGB website: :::
SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey is pleased to have achieved continuity of home fixtures as they prepare for the SGB Championship campaign.
The Scorpions remain a Sunday track this season, having brought their start-time forward to 5.30pm, and five matches are scheduled at the Eddie Wright Raceway during a busy month of April.
Godfrey said: “I think it’s going to be a great season of racing in the SGB Championship, while the Peterborough meeting (April 2) is a mouth-watering start to the season at the Eddie Wright Raceway.
“But every fixture looks an attractive one. You could put forward a case this season for each and every one of the ten clubs in the Championship reaching the play-offs.
“There’s much more continuity this season. We want the fans to get into the habit of coming to the Eddie Wright Raceway on a Sunday evening at 5.30pm. We’re running the vast majority of Sundays from the beginning of April to mid-September.”Attachments:
