France was a leading centre for speedway from 1928 to the mid-1930s. The main track was the Buffalo Stadium in Paris whch featured meetings withthe leading French, Australian and English stars. It also staged an unofficial world championship for many years. There was a revival of interest under promoter Victor Boston in the 1950s which featured English, Australian, French and Spanish riders. There is now only one speedway in France whichstages an annual international event.
