Coventry Bees..43

Ht 1..Adams, Nicholls, Ulamek, Johnston 4-2 (4-2) Ht 2..Johnston, Janniro, Balinski, Moore [E/F] 1-5 (5-7) Ht 3..Richardson, Harris, Chrzanowski, Smolinski 4-2 (9-9) Ht 4..Gjedde, Schlein, Balinski, Johnston 4-2 (13-11) Ht 5..Nicholls, Chrzanowski, Richardson, Janniro 3-3 (16-14) Ht 6..Balinski, Adams, Janniro, Schlein 5-1 (21-15) Ht 7..Harris, Moore, Gjedde, Smolinski 3-3 (24-18) Ht 8..Schlein, Ulamek, Johnston, Balinski [Fall/Ex] 2-4 (26-22) Ht 9..Schlein, Chrzanowski, Richardson, Janniro [Fall] 3-3 (29-25) Ht 10..Adams, Smolinski, Harris, Ulamek 3-3 (32-28) Ht 11..Smolinski, Nicholls, Gjedde, Moore 1-5 (33-33) Ht 12..Balinski, Richardson, Harris, Johnston 5-1 (38-34) Ht 13..Gjedde, Adams, Schlein, Nicholls [E/F] 5-1 (43-35) Ht 14..Chrzanowski, Harris, Balinski, Smolinski 4-4 (47-39) Ht 15..Harris, Adams, Nicholls, Richardson [Fall/Ex] 2-4 (49-43)
Notes:
1..Swindon win the toss and take gates 1 and 3. 2..Ht 1 and Johnston takes R/R. Good race between Ulamek and Johnston at the back. 3..Ht 2 and Balinski pointing sideways to avoid the tapes after having a moment at the start, missed it, and trailed round at the back. This guy is pure entertainment. Never, ever seen that before. 4..Ht 3 and Harris does well to avoid his ice-skating team-mate then overtakes Chrzanowski for second. 5..Ht 4 and a brilliant ride from Gjedde around the outside of Schlein to take the chequered flag. 6..Ht 5 and Janniro takes R/R. And a pie. 7..Ulamek changing something on the bike and forgot he was on the meter. Excluded and replaced by Desperate Damian. Floppy comparing Balinski's start to Gollob's riding. 8..Ht 8 and Balinski has his customary, unassisted trip to the air fence. I blame the track. Race stopped due to a damaged air fence - Oakes on the phone complaining it shouldn't have been stopped, then it should have been awarded, blah, blah. Race to be re-run without Balinski. 9..Ht 9 and Schlein takes R/R. No pie. 10..Ht 10 and Smolinski is a bit wild at the start, giving Ulamek a bit of a shove out of the gate. No harm done and Ulamek resumes his normal place at the back. 11..Ht 11 and Smolinski looking like Balinski and nearly taking out Nicholls on a rut. That's a compliment, by the way. 12..Ht 12 and Johnston in for Janniro at reserve for Coventry. Richardson super team riding with Balinski...safe on the inside. Richardson looks bloody scared. 13..Ht 14 and Harris goes off 15m for Janniro who is apparently injured after his fall. His points will count double should he beat an opponent. Fantastic ride from Harris getting past the two scary riders, despite Balinski almost taking him out on the third bend. 14..Ht 15 and it's Nicholls (Y)-Harris (G) for Coventry and Adams (R)-Richardson (B) for Swindon. Richardson and Nicholls going into the third bend together and Richardson falls. Richardson excluded. Rosco has no quarrels with the decision.

I don't know why they're complaining. Ref stopped the race because the air fence was damaged so it was a safety issue for the other three riders. Don't know what they're worried about either - Ulamek's not exactly firing on all cylinders tonight.

Well Coventry must be pleased with that result, whilst the Robins will have been hoping for a bigger lead to take to Brandon. The "inksis" providing the entertainment for both sides, but Rico and Adams not looking like they're completely fit and comfortable.

Pleased for Swindon, but who knows what happens next?
Not a great stat man (as I'm sure most people know) but the Robins have only been to Brandon twice this season, defeating the Bees by a narrow margin first time round, losing by 20 points the second.

That's a bit disappointing, might have a pop at 6/1 though.

Considering the nerves I quite enjoyed the meeting, some great racing and I'm very happy that there is only a six point deficit to make up . I was expecting more to be honest .Lets hope we can pull it out of the bag at Brandon next week.
