Well, F1 returns from its summer break this weekend with the Belgium GP from Spa. Has anyone managed to close the huge gap on Red Bull? We'll find out on Saturday & Sunday. In the meantime, the mad old German bloke has finally apologised to Rubens for trying to kill him in Hungary.

Well, with Schumi taking extended leave and Hatcham banned, I feel like I'm taking to myself on this thread. Munners, any chance you could keep my company on here. But an excellent win for Hamilton in Spa today, with intermintent rain causing a bit of fun. Webber overcome a shocking start in which he slipped from pole to 7th to finish second, whilst Golden Boy Vettel again fucked things up - this time by running into back of Button. Neither scored today, and I wouldn't be surprised if Vettel carried some sort of penatly into the next race for being such a plank. And a comedy of errors from Alonso today, thus matching Vettel in the dunce stakes. ;D

I was hoping for a bit more rain to spice it up a bit to be honest! I thought Jenson was desperately unlucky, but that Vettel got his just desserts with the puncture. He should get a penalty for that - but I thought I heard on the F1 forum after the race that the stewards had decided not to? As Schumi is no longer around, I feel compelled to big up her namesake who did bloody well to make up so many places. Not bad for an old un . He did ruin it by being so damn smug in the post race interviews though. As for Alonso, I PMSL when I saw him sideways on the track. My only concern at the time was that it might bugger up Lewis's chances of winning if the safety car came out, but it all turned out ok in the end The title race is gonna be very interesting. Can't wait for the next round!

Ah, company on the F1 thread. ;D Yes, Schumacher had one of his best drives of the season, although did I chuckle slightly when Rosberg overtook him, as the race recommenced after the safety car. Nice to see that Mercedes do allow their drivers race other, Ferrari could take note as poor Massa seems to have been a bit subdued after since he had to wave Alonso past a couple of races ago. Vettel definitely deserves a 10-grid penatly for being so clumsy and taking out another driver whilst he was able to finish, I hope the stewards are consistent after Schumacher was penalised at the last Grand Prix.

For some reason I felt mildly dissatisfied with the race. Apart from Schumi driving over Nico's front wing I found it a bit processional; Hammy untoubled, Webbo not bothering to push, Kubica punching above his weight, Alonso and Massa flattering to deceive and the Mercs trundling round like the big touring cars they truly are..... it all seemed a bit of a "par for the course" race, if you know what I mean..... Maybe that's just me although, admittedly, I did hoot over Sebastian's keystone cops moments!:-) Oh, and Horner's "Sebastian is very Talented" comments as well..... OH, GET A ROOM CHRISTIAN!!!!!!!
