THIRTEEN current or former Peterborough riders will be in action when the Premier League giants come to the East of England Showground on Sunday (August 15, 2.30pm).
Eight top clubs will battle it out over two semi finals and a final to decide the 2010 Premier League Four Team Champions.
Only two teams arrive at Alwalton without firm Peterborough connections – and strangely enough they are kept apart in the semis.
In Group One, with the two top scoring sides going through to the Final, Sheffield and Berwick both have a couple of ex-Panthers in their squads while rivals and meeting favourites Newcastle boast two current Peterborough assets in Rene Bach (he rode in a handfful of matches last season before moving to the Diamonds on loan) and Dakota North (yet to make his official Showground debut even though he's a fully-signed Panther) and Jason King wo psent four seasons in Peterborough's Conference League side between 2000 and 2003.
Premier League Pairs champions Sheffield track former crowd favourites Ricky Ashworth (2004) and Richard Hall, a hero of Peterborough’s Elite League Grand Final winning squad in 2006 and also a regular the following season until he was released.
In Group Two, Berwick include Lee Complin who made his Panthers’ bow in 2006 and rode in four meetings last year, and Paul Clews who made his Panthers debut in 1996 and was a member both the Thundercats’ 1997 Conference League championship side and the following season’s Premier League title winners.
Two of his teammates from 1997 – David Howe (who was also in the 1998 gold medal squad) and Carl Wilkinson – are in the Scunthorpe quintet while Somerset field ex-Panthers’ skipper Shane Parker (2001-03) and Yaxley-born Ritchie Hawkins who wore his local club’s colours in 2003 and 2005.
Edinburgh and Rye House have just one rider each. Monarchs star Andrew Tully rode for the Panthers in 2009, and recent Rockets recruit Robbie Kessler competed in five matches as a doubling-up rider in 2004.

SHEFFIELD (Josh Auty, Ricky Ashworth, Richard Hall, Josef Franc, Hugh Skidmore).
