Local Derby On Thursday
Ipswich take on local rivals the Lakeside Hammers in a Sky Sports Elite League 'B' fixture on Thursday night.
The Witches will be missing Polish star Robert Miskowiak who crashed at Wolverhampton on Monday evening, sustaining a dislocated ankle which is still very swollen and a serious burn to his hand. Ipswich will operate Rider Replacement in the number five spot with Ritchie Hawkins being drafted in as the Witches number eight.
Great Britain's Lee Richardson leads the Hammers attack along with Swedish World Cup hero Jonas Davidsson and Foxhall track specialist Adam Shields. Rumours abound that Jonas' brother David is about to be dropped by the Hammers in favour of fellow Swede Peter Ljung, but this has yet to be confirmed by the Lakeside management. This fixture traditionally provides exciting racing, a close finish and a great atmosphere with plenty of Hammers fans making the short trip up the A12 to support their team.
