A decent meeting last night with some decent racing. Marred only by the horrific crash between Skornicki and Hougaard. From my vantage point (above bends 3&4 where it occured) it seemed that Hougaard did his Nicki P trick. Moved from the Kerb to mid track, Skornicki was literally inches behind riding mid-track but didn't turn the bike. He was in the middle of the bend and as he was about to turn the bike Hougaard was right in front of him. Skornicki had nowhere to go IMO, hit his back wheel which spun Hougaard around leading his bike to fly about 8-9 feet in the air and Skornicki hit the fence hard. Sad to see him taken away to hospital. Early reports were of facial injuries and he banged his dodgy knee again.
For Belle Vue Andersen was class. Only beaten after being outgated in heat 13 by Lindgren. Superb heat 10 from him moving Klindt out wide to allow Lanham through on the inside for a much needed 5-1. Ostergaard had a decent first ride chasing Proctor and holding off Freddie but did nothing after that. Wright was awful. Not gating at all (never does really to be honest) and just content to follow whoever was in front of him. Only won his last race because Wethers cocked up the last bend. Hougaard was clearly suffering from the effects of his spill. Karlsson, IMO, was poor. I don't know if it's his age or a bit of average manipulation to have a final hurrah at Wolves in 2011 but he seems so slow. Couldn't gate for toffee last night, passed easily by Woffinden in heat 4. Only got his third places in 13&15 because Woffinden went way too wide. Grajczonek was on the pace and battling hard all night. Lanham was class again and we're going to miss him at reserve from today.
Wolves rode as a team IMO. Lindgren had a poor first ride but was solid after that. Proctor was solid in his first ride but did nothing after that. Klindt won the re-run of heat 3 but did nothing else. Skornicki never managed a lap. Woffinden looked to be the fastest visiting rider but never learnt to keep it on the inside costing Wolves an away win. Wethers took one ride to get used to the track and was good value after that. Ludvig Lindgren was classy in his first 3 rides but faded after.
