G'day everyone;
Well we got the lad home, cleaned him up and took him out to Hospital last night, Pneumonia, Docs gave him some Normal-type Drugs and a script for summat stronger and he's ostensibly off to the Quacks tomorrow morning. He'd better go or I'll be thinking of rearranging his features slightly; most people steer clear when I get upset, old habits etc. My Blood Pressure has eased a bit fortunately.
Couldn't agree more with what you wrote Lupus about people not willing to face up to being sick; I've been there meself and if not for the actions of a caring Neighbour I'd be someplace else hotter than the Tropics typing this on an Asbestos keyboard!
I also tend to think that if you're sick your thinking is sick too; non-rational decisions become the norm - best thing is off to the Quack asap!
I gave up on the Prawns last night; Beef & Mushroom Casserole in Red Wine with a Savoury Rice filled the Bottomless Pit instead. Public Holiday today for the Darwin Cup this arvo but I'm not up to it, I'll do them Prawns instead; wash 'em down with a Semillon Blanc. Missed the Crab-tying last night as well, the winner tied his three in just under 10 seconds, his 4-year-old son was second in 10.5 - www.ntnews.com.au/article/2007/08/06/1707_ntnews.html - look out tootsies!
Must have been something in the air last night; the Angel of Death visited our street - we live at No 17 but he called at No12 instead, an old m8 who had a stroke a coupla years ago and another one a few months back; he's at peace now: his daughter managed to get the family together from all over Oz for his last day - no mean feat at the height of the Dry, Plane seats are like Hen's Teeth! Another Funeral coming up, but not the one I expected.
The previous evening was a free Firework show down the Beach - Oz's F1-11s are being retired soon so they put on a Dump 'n Burn - www.potd.com.au/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=36529&fullsize=1 - for their last visit up here for exercises - www.potd.com.au/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=6002&fullsize=1 - these images are from Brisbane but you get the picture, one of them at 400 feet is quite impressive, not to mention LOUD!
Thanks again for everyones' help and insights, much appreesh!
See Ya in tha Soup! BFD.
