Scott Nicholls can heave a sigh of relief as he'll no longer be facing Emil Sajfutdinov tomorrow. The Russian has said he feels battered and bruised after riding in Poland yesterday and is taking a few days off. Bless him. Hopefully Balinski will ride for Piraterna instead.

Lejonen 60-36 Indianerna
The reigning champions get the new season off to a good start with a win over the Indians. Chris Holder top scored for the home side (12+1 from 5) with Niels Kristian Iversen the main contributor for Indianerna (10 from 6). But a terrible night for Bjarne Pedersen who only picked up 3 points (and a bonus) from 5 rides.
Dackarna 59-37 Vastervik
Again the result was expected, but things go from bad to worse for Peter Karlsson. After his antics in Poland on Sunday, he again took a tumble in his first heat and played no further part in the meeting. But Rune Holta scored a paid maximum and the rest of the team gave him solid back-up to secure the win.
Gollob aside, Vastervik will be disappointed, but perhaps not unexpected given the uncertainty over the winter season and the strength of the opposition.
Rospiggarna 41-55 Vetlanda
Vetlanda begin by defeating their opponents at home, with strong performances for Lee Richardson, Jason Crump, Martin Vaculik and Janusz Kolodziej all reaching double figures.
Rospiggarna shouldn't be too discouraged, however, as Monberg's score (3 from 4) isn't a genuine indicator due to a fall and a tapes exclusion, Nieminen scored well at reserve, and Barker and Jagus should have more to come. Ryan Sullivan was, as always, the mainstay of the team, beating Kolodziej and Crump in the final heat.
Piraterna 60-36 Vargarna
An easy home win for the Pirates, despite the Genius failing to deliver. The Swedes took the honours - Lindback on a maximum, 13 points for Jonas Davidsson and 6 at reserve from Linus Sundstrom, who was up against Danish talent Michael Jepsen Jensen.
No excuses from Vargarna. Despite being without Adam Shields, who suffered a minor injury on Monday, the Brits let them down - Woffinden scoring a single point and Nicholls unable to take his British form to Europe (6 from 6).
Overall the season is starting as you'd expect. No major surprises there, I don't think.

Update on Peter Karlsson:
The accident caused a lot damage to his helmet, but luckily x-rays have showed there are no serious injuries for the man himself. He is, however, very battered and bruised.
