Last year, Grudziadz riders Olly Allen, Edward Kennett and Rory Schlein had bikes and equipment stolen from them before an important league meeting. It has now emerged that another rider has been arrested, along with his father, in connection with the crime. www.pomorska.pl/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100204/ZUZEL01/150952054Roughly translated: President, Zbigniew Fialkowski, said: "The boy is still our rider although we considered loaning the junior to Krosno. Last Monday the rider and his father came to the club, and both were polite and pleasant. It did not occur to me that they could have something to do with the theft. We even shook hands. We do our best to help the juniors in particular - we give them free meals and accommodation, and this is how we are repaid." Unofficially, we know that a player was arrested yesterday morning (Thursday), along with his father, after they were found with stolen car and bike parts. The numbers on the frames of the stolen bikes matched those belonging to Allen, Schlein and Kennett. The rider and his father will now have to testify where they obtained any bikes, parts and engines, and the club's board intend to apply for the rider to be suspended. Schlein, Kennett and Allen have been kept informed. When they were told they had some strong words for their so called team-mate. They can't believe another rider could do such a thing.

The riders must have been gutted when they heard it was a team mate.
My initial reaction was to say that the rider in question should get a lifetime ban as no-one would want to be in a team with him at any point in the future.
But then I thought of the comparisons with the John Terry situation. How different is it to 'steal' a team mate's wife?
