SHEFFIELD Tigers have coinfirmed Hugh Skidmore as their first signing for the 2010 season.
The Australian, who will be 19 next month, quickly agreed terms with Tigers owner Neil Machin before jetting back to his home country for a winter break.
Sheffield co-promoter David Hoggart said: "Hugh was certainly a bright spark in our season and we're delighted to have him back on board for next year.”

SHEFFIELD Speedway have added a second new face to their 2010 team after signing Arlo Bugeja on loan from Premier League rivals Redcar Bears. Bugeja will be 24 in March and he believes a change of club will help take his career up a level. He will start the new season in March alongside Paul Cooper at reserve in a Tigers team which also features skipper Ricky Ashworth, new signing Josef Franc, Richard Hall, Josh Auty and Hugh Skidmore. The highlight of his career so far was his performance in front of the Sky cameras in August when he was a matchwinner for Redcar in their home Premier League win over reigning champions Edinburgh – he piled up 9+2 points. He said: “I’m absolutely thrilled. I feel I can improve on reserve status and have shown this on many occasions with Redcar, I can do so much more than my three-point average. “I feel it’s a good time for me to join Sheffield because I am on such a low average and on better equipment I am in a much better position. I feel I will be able to perform at a consistently higher level than this year." Courtesy of www.british-speedway.co.uk/news.php?extend.5730.8
