Birmingham and Weymouth's Lee Smart was a deserving winner of tonight's Oxford Cheetahs New Era Trophy individual meeting at Sandy Lane.
Smart went through his qualifying heats unbeaten, and then resisted a stiff challenge from Oxford skipper Lee Smethills to win the final.
Smethills was second, Kyle Hughes third and Andrew Bargh fourth, while Sam Martin and Luke Priest were eliminated at the semi-final stage.
