An early start this year as current champions Unibax Torun deny that they're about to sign Daugavpils' Russian junior Artiom Laguta: www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2009/09/28/unibax-nie-prowadzil-rozmow-z-artiomem-laguta/Laguta Jnr had suggested that he was about to sign for Torun, but the club's chairman Wojciech Stepniewski denies that any conversations with the rider have taken place. Polish clubs are forbidden from approaching riders from other clubs until November.

And that may be possible now that coach, Czeslaw Czernicki, has had his contract terminated. There's no love lost between Czernicki and Kasprzak's father, and it was said that one of the two would have to go for the other to remain. So it looks like Kasprzak won't be one of the casualties of Leszno's poor year - will Leigh Adams?

But reports today suggest Kasprzak won't be in the Leszno team next year, and that they are looking at - yup, Nicki Pedersen. Pedersen and Balinski in the same team? That'll make my day.

Emil Sajfutdinov is supposedly asking for a 50% pay increase to stay with Bydgoszcz next year. And Bigjosh want him to take a 25% cut, should be interesting, AJ another who is being asked to reduce his fee. Rumours all riders will have to take 25% cut this season.

I think the powers behind Leszno have finally had enough of Kasprzak Snr and Jnr. There have been several unsavoury incidents over the years involving the Kasprzak family, such as Krzysztof Kasprzak knocking Wieslaw Jagus off his bike on the "warm down" lap after a league meeting a couple of years ago. Kasprzak Snr trying to dictate who could and could not be the coach of the club was probably the final straw and while the coach has now gone, Kasprzak had to go too.

I was told at the weekend that there is at least one team, and likely two, that are willing to meet Emil's demands if he will leave Bydgoszcz.... Interesting stuff. While Torun, with their very wealthy backer and the added incentive of kicking their nearest and not-so-dearest in the balls, could probably meet his demands, they seem to be a club that doesn't pay excessively (they baulked at Andersen's demands ahead of this season), so I'd be dubious about them. Leszno, I guess, is a possible and recently promoted Tarnow don't seem short of a zloty or five, so they could be a possible. As for Falubaz, who knows? Dowhan could probably afford him, if he wanted to.

Falubaz were definitely one of the ones being mentioned. The other wasn't so certain.
The Polonia fans seemed quite confident that Emil would stay as long as Tillinger was ousted. Has that happened yet?

Leszno have said they want a team that others are able to work with, and who don't complain about any little detail - read into that what you will. Meanwhile, looks like Leigh Adams will serve a final year with the team, and will enter negotiations to extend his contract next month.
