If a ref disqualified all riders who moved as "delaying" the start there would never be four riders in any race! And why would that be a bad thing? If referees were stricter at the starts maybe, just maybe, riders would eventually get the message and stop all the nonsense. Was Allen even warned, or was the referee's heart bleeding for him after his tumble? The two minutes should've been straight on and I mean straight on. But, as it happens, I wouldn't have been so trigger-happy as the incompetent referee and I'd have seen how things panned out before stopping the race. Thus, in a meeting with a competent referee, Allen's fall would've been the cause of the stoppage. There's too much messing about at the starts - two minutes should mean two minutes and not two minutes to meander round to the start and then another two minutes of fiddling around. Saw the Zielona Gora meeting on Sunday and Iversen was rushing to get around to the start under the two minutes - he made it with about 2 seconds to spare and the tapes went up those two seconds later. That's how it should be. But your views are those of someone who does know 'fuck all about speedway'. Says the man stupid enough to claim the global superstar is still Britain's undisputed No 1. Tee hee, global superstar, tee hee.

Some things never change do they Sube. You don't agree with the referee so of course thast means he is incompetent.
Sometimes it's good to admit you can be wrong ;D but I won't hold my breath.

The red lights came on as soon as the tapes went up due to Olly Allen moving. By the time he'd fallen, the red lights were already on so the fall was after the race had already been stopped. It was clearly shown in replay that the red lights were already on. But wasn't his jumping of the start and fall all part of the same movement? Who was the ref? Dave Robinson

How's living your life vicariously through Scott Nicholls misfortunes working out for you ? Happy ? You mean what's it like being right? I guess you don't have much experience of being right. Well, as ever, I am serene. It's good being right, although some people proved wrong do get ever so bitter over it.

Not sure how you can be 'right' over refereeing decisions that almost all sane people agree with, and over which you stand alone. I also for the record predicted that Nicholls decision to ditch the elite was a monumental mistake, and that the two clowns from west ham would achieve nothing from their ludicrous attack on Poole. How funny it would be if the Essex boys ended up finishing 5th.

Was Allen even warned, or was the referee's heart bleeding for him after his tumble? Sube, the ref's call was right in this instance, even if was down to a nano-second. And Allen was spoken to about moving at the start irrespective of the fall.

I also noticed something fly off his bike Squirlster(maybe his footrest) and that he had to use Ricky Wells bike for the re-run.

I must admit, I'm on the other side of the stadium to the start and only caught the red light incident precisely on the re-run on the TV screens where I was sat. You may well be right - i'll keep a look out when I finally watch the recording (funnily enough I just can't face it just yet )

Not sure how you can be 'right' over refereeing decisions that almost all sane people agree with, and over which you stand alone. You seem to think that being one of the braying sheep means you're right, but that isn't the case. Everyone thought the emperor was clothed, apart from the little boy. Who was right? I don't care if every being on the planet thinks overwise, I'm right. Allen should've been excluded, if not for the fall then for delaying the start. But Robinson is acknowledged as being one of the poorer referees (quiet a feat, given the competition includes Steele, Reeve and Golem Flint), so it hardly surprising that he got it wrong by being too trigger-happy with the red lights. However, he could've redeemed himself by throwing Allen out for delaying the start.

I think Sube should become a ref. I have actually considered it myself. But the problem is I think I'm a bit too biased. ;D

Allen should've been excluded, if not for the fall then for delaying the start. I hate to say this... but I agree. It shouldn't have been all 4 back when one rider and one rider alone has caused the stoppage - for two different reasons.

The braying sheep comment is quite funny considering your main problem with me is i won't kiss your arse and agree with everything you post. As for Allen and whether he should or should not have been excluded, let's not forget that the main aim of speedway is to entertain, so whilst we need to move things along it does no-one any good to be running races without four riders. Let's also remember the other side of the coin where Boxall WAS excluded for 'not being under power' when the red lights came on in heat 2, the offence that caused the red light to be put on was movement prior to the tapes being released and at that point Boxall was under power. Some you win and some you lose.
