Just had a cursory look at the averages, and if it was only one rider to go, I think it would have to be Joonas or Jonas to fit them all in. Some really tricky decisions ahead, and none of them will be popular.

Poor meeting tonight and real embarassing stuff for the first 6 heats. They should have gone to Belle Vue to see the Pirates finally sink.
What is it you say about Nicholls Sub? Tee-Hee Mrs Miggins.
You can apply that to Poole tonight.

Well, we've had some dross on Sky so far this year, but I think tonight just about takes the biscuit. That was largely awful.

I think I may be nominating the glorious invention that is Sky + for Mutt's nuts. Put this on at around 8.30 and had caught up with live by 9.15pm, mainly from catching interviews. I ended up winding through most of the 'racing'. That was a disgrace of a track and someone should have their balls chewed for it. It showed that with a bit of effort the track was salvageable, but I'm guessing that didn't fit the Bees agenda on the night. Rico

I never thought Nieminen was Elite League standard. I still disagree. Don't forget he was taken on as a reserve - a position he should have been able to remain at, admittedly, but averages don't allow that. The track last night was appalling, but he still managed to score more than the likes of Daniel Davidsson, Steve Boxall and Nicolai Klindt (at home) did last night. Plus he's an asset. Lakeside seem to be in the unfortunate position that one or two of their assets are the ones who could do with the improvement. If all of the riders manage to get it together on the same night they can beat any team, but the problem has been consistency, and that final reserve position. Some tough decisions to be made for Jon Cook - does he drop one of the top averaged riders and the double uppers to bring in someone who enables Nieminen to go back to reserve to partner Robson? That could make them pretty strong, but wouldn't be fair - Richardson and Davidsson have increased their averages, and Cook dispelled any thoughts of Adam not returning in his interview last night. The other alternative isn't one I don't even want to post. I can only be thankful I'm not the one having to make a decision.

Terrible advert for EL speedway, the track was awful and the speedway worse.

Robson and the DU'ers started at reserve. The main thing I've noticed with Nieminen is a distinct lack of minerals when the track gets dodgy. He's a decent PL heat leader in my opinion.

Nieminen has been in the top 5 all season Schumi. Robson and the DU'ers started at reserve. I didn't make that very clear, did I? What I meant was that he was signed by virtue of his results from last year when he was at reserve (or number 8, if you prefer), and doing very well. I still maintain that in that position he'd be one of the best reserves in the league. In any case, I can't see how they can strengthen by getting rid of him - for changes to be effective they need more points to play with. Whilst you're around, do you know what the official figure for team redeclaration is?

Unless your names Van Stratten then you can build to what you like
