With the Old Momgol again neglecting his duties, I thought it was time to get this thread going. There's three burning questions tonight: 1. Will the meeting escape the heavy showers sweeping the Midlands? 2. Will Nigel Pearson (aka the Screaming Imbecile) be back? I certainly hope so, as both Tatum & Millard were awful last week. Pearson is a class above both of those. 3. Will the meeting be more exciting than the Coventry v Lakeside borefest that Braveheart, Paulco and Genghis were unfortunate enough to attend last season? It certainly can't be any worse, I was almost nodding off when AJ produced the first bit of overtaking of the evening.... in Heat 13

You can always rely on Jon Cook for a controversial comment. He has more-or-less accused the Coventry track staff of deliberately making the track that heavy to suit the home riders. EDIT: How did Smolinski avoid exclusion for that? Robson was penalising for laying his bike down - the ref is a knob.

I think this is the worst meeting I've ever seen.

He wasn't riding dangerously and the race wasn't stopped. I think Lakeside are suffering from injuries - not current ones, but memories of injuries past. Seems none of them (rightfully so) want to risk racing on this track. It's bloody awful.

Shameful stuff from the bastion of delusion.

He wasn't riding dangerously and the race wasn't stopped. He caused Robson to lay it down. That was Smolinski's fault - not Robson's. If anything, the track now seems to be deteriorating. Even Harris was trundling around half-cock in Heat 6. It's a load of bollocks.

And Peter Pan[sy] appears to defend the indefensible in his usual limp-wristed, oooh Betty way. Good of Coventry to try and sort the track out after the meeting has been effectively won. Coventry should be hammered for this. It's bringing the sport further into disrepute. And I can hardly believe that's possible. Sky should show the glorious meeting from Bydgoszcz yesterday. That would show the mammoth difference between Poland and this shower of shit.

Jon Cook talking about the possibility of keeping Swidders when Adam comes back and making a change at the bottom end. Having read the Hammers' website, however, it seems Nieminen is coming under fire.

Nieminen is coming under fire. Well, he's shite tonight. My grand aunt could do better - and she died in 1998.

I never thought Nieminen was Elite League standard.
