I love the lyrics of "I Am The Walrus", for instance, and they don't make sense. Probably because none of your posts make sense.

They usually don't make much sense. He's an awful lyricist. And usually copies someone else's melody. For example, check the start of "Don't look back in anger" and spot the "Imagine" opening. But do lyrics have to make sense? I love the lyrics of "I Am The Walrus", for instance, and they don't make sense. I have to say I don't really like songs where the lyrics don't make sense. For me music is mostly about the lyrics - I always listen to every lyric of every song, and the more meaningful the more I like the song. I has to have a good tune and/or beat though for it to be an all round winner. One that springs to mind is Roberta Flack's "First time ever I saw your face"... I now can't listen to that without getting a major lump in my throat...... www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI7gzXz1cHo&feature=PlayList&p=E70930EB7467D84D&index=0&playnext=1

That was one of their weaker efforts - very poor stuff.

That was one of their weaker efforts - very poor stuff. Well I was going to go for Knowing Me, Knowing You, but having already said I liked The Winner Takes It All, I thought it made me look like a bit of a miserable bastard. And what's wrong with the "Name Of The Game", it's one of ABBA's more complex songs with a good lyric.

And what's wrong with the "Name Of The Game", it's one of ABBA's more complex songs with a good lyric. "Knowing me knowing you" would've been a better choice, as would "Fernando". "Name of the game" is just turgid. No merit whatsoever. Probably one of their worst efforts, alongside "Take a chance".
