Well for me there is only 1 guy for me and thats Richie Sambora! he is absolutly fan bloody tastic! I love the guy!! And for me the best tune he did was on my all time fave bon jovi hit, Dry County. I also love some of his solo work. I could hear this guy play all night.

Another I feel is mocked and never given credit to is Francis Rossi off The Quo. Forget the 12 bar listen to the riffs and changes in any lead, utterly mesmorising, none of this waaah eeeooowwww wah wah etc but pure chord and lead heaven. Not really apropos of anything, but when I was about 18 I got nicked for speeding and decided to turn up at court, somewhere near the Aldwych. Standing in front of me in the lobby was Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi and a brief; after listening to the conversation for a bit, it was obvious that it was Rick that was being done and then he turned round and asked me for light (non of this pansy smoking ban shit then!), so I held out my lighter and asked what he was there for. "Son", he said "let me give you a piece of advice; never, under any circumstances, drive your Porsche through the West End at 4am, coked up and pissed out of your mind!" ;D ;D

Big fan of Alex Lifeson and Rush, but he is just a bit too rough to make my list. He struggles with a lot of what he plays - never quite up to the standard of Geddy Lee and Neil Peart - in my fucking humble bastard opionion at least... Tits are nothing like old Dolly's either.

Christ! How could I have missed out Albert Lee Guess he is slightly in an unfashionable area of the music business and he hasn't been in one of the great groups like so many of his contemporaries. Anyway as the thread is "Guitarists or whatever" Here is a bit of "whatever" Susana Seivane. The spanish Tickell www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZiSTBJumMQ&mode=related&search=
