Let's put this to bed.

Genghis, you said it was 50/50, and now you've changed your mind?

Schumi, I didn't think Nicki P was fully to blame (it was 50/50), but the question is "should he have been excluded", to which I answer: "Yes, for entertainment purposes".
It would have been quite dull had the Russian been excluded, as he'd have taken it on the chin.
But with Nicki out, we get the full works, with effing and blinding all over the place, objects being kicked and a rather nonsensical interview with comments about the Russian turning left. Quality. ;D

MR P,is certainly not one of my favourites, and i had a bet on Emil at 6/1, so i was financially very happy with the decision, i also have to say that watching it 'live' i thought Nicki was to blame, but once the replays were shown it was absolutely clear that Pedersen did nothing wrong whatsoever, so the decision was wrong. Its not often that i agree with the Snipster but i have to say that if the referee made his decision without using replays(and the speed of his decision made me suspect that anyway) he should be sacked immediately.

Okay, apart from genghis, who's voted one way and posted another, we're in agreement. But if the question was reversed, and I asked should Emil have been excluded I guess the result would be the same. So should referees have to exclude someone for a racing incident, or should the rules be changed to allow a re-run with all four, even on lap 3?

odd decision but pedersen is a worried man as he doesnt have the smarts to beat emil, his intimidation tactics dont scare the russian. Pedersen cheated his way to 3 titles and now its payback.
Super, great, lets have some more of it, lets run the dirty dane out of town.

I vote 'Yes' because I instantly felt Nicki had clipped Emil's front wheel by kicking out his tail with venom. But after seeing replays I'm not so sure. Tough decision on Nicki, but that wasn't exactly graceful the rant he threw afterwards so can't feel too sorry for him.

Nicki did nothing wrong, Emil did nothing wrong!!
This is a very rare example of why referees should have the option of a re-run with all four at any stage of the race.
Look at it this way............four riders are out in a heat, they're miles apart and on lap three when a dog runs onto the track......seriously, it could easily happen..........what does the referee do?
Well, quite simply he has to stop the race as he has a duty of care to the riders..........under the current rules he then must exclude one of the riders.................crazy!!!

I agree with Kev and said the same thing about it on Sunday afternoon over a drink in post-GP analysis.
