This week sees Sky's first visit to the Citadel of Shame this season, which, alas, means we'll have to shudder as we listen to the pansy-voiced Peter Oakes. Oakes' opposite number this week is the giant Comrade Simmons (he's jolly tall, isn't he?) as the visitors are Moscow on Orwell. But will we be witnessing the return of the global superstar to Elite League action? Who knows? Who cares? What a mess it is. What a mess the whole Elite League is. The word shambles springs readily to mind, but, to be honest, shambles really doesn't do it justice. So, what will be the Coventry line-up? My own personal guess is that the global superstar won't be there, which should release Tatum MBE from helmet carrying duties, so that he can nod his head and say things like "no question", "absolutely, Nige" and "without doubt" when the subject of proposed changes rears its head. But you suspect the BSPA would prefer it to be "unmentionable" - open debate just exposes them to well-deserved ridicule. Certain to be there for the Bees are Mr Fidget (who no doubt will fidget, squirm and bounce during interviews), the Poo Boy and new British champion Harris. The Witches should be led by Jaroslaw Hampel, unless he is struck down by that mysterious "Monday Elite League Blues" disease that occasionally strikes him down. Hampel's been in flying form for Comrade Louis' club this season, but he is often prone to throwing in the odd duff ride here and there. Elsewhere for the Witches, Swiderski hasn't quite hit the heights of last season, while Kroner is a "gating tart" par excellence and King is hit and miss. All of which means that I'm expecting a win and three Elite League points for the Bees - let the screaming commence (and please drown out the pansy voice of Oakes, if you can, Mr S Imbecile).

Implying the Witches are the home side or am I barking wildly up the wrong tree again?

Superb read, as per usual, but isn't it Ipswich Vs Coventry??? Implying the Witches are the home side or am I barking wildly up the wrong tree again? Don't tell me Sky have got it wrong again? Tatum MBE certainly expects to be at Brandon this Monday, as his preview makes clear: Sting in the tail Bees to strong at home
It has been a good week for Coventry with their riders grabbing first and second in the final of the British Championship. Chris Harris won it for the second time and Eddie Kennett came second for the second time too. It was a really good night for Speedway and obviously a big boost for Coventry Bees.
It came after they lost to Lakeside last Monday night but they did manage to steal an away bonus point in the last race when Adam Shields' bike packed up when he was leading.
Coventry will be happy with that as they have two serious injuries at the moment. Ben Barker and Olly Allen both have broken legs and to be honest they have been doing okay.
They have been winning at home and they got that away point at Lakeside and also got the away point at Ipswich, which is not to bad when you are missing two riders. They will certainly be looking forward to getting back to full strength though.
I must say I have been impressed with Edward Kennett who is outscoring both Chris Harris and Rory Schlein. I think any minute now he is going to promote himself to the number one slot. He is a young rider full of confidence who is going great.
Ipswich have not done well on their travels so far although they are an improving team. They started slowly but are moving in the right direction.
However despite Coventry having those injuries I still think they have enough strength to win at home. Ipswich did have a good win against Eastbourne on Thursday night but let's not forget the Eastbourne are suffering terribly from the carnage that we saw about a week and a half ago.
They have still got a few riders out and even the riders that are still racing are carrying a few injuries. So it was no real surprise that Ipswich won but they will have to find some away form pretty quickly if they want to upset the Bees.
So far this year we have seen some very competitive racing every week and I expect to see that continue on Monday night. I think the Bees will be very confident - their top three of Harris, Kennet and Rory Schlein have been riding very well this year and I expect them to go well at home.
The key for them though is riders like Danny King and Piotr Swiderski who was a super star last year and has not quite found that form this year. If Ipswich want to put any pressure on Coventry then those two riders, along with Hampel have got to win some races.
Kelvin's Call
For me Coventry are favourites but Ipswich are a very solid looking team. Jarek Hampel their Polish number one is riding very well. If he can put in a big performance then he should definitely inspire his team.Taken from: www.skysports.com

Anyway, regardless of whether the meeting is at the Citadel of Shame or the Kremlin, are we any closer to finding out if the global superstar is going to be providing us with plenty of titters tomorrow night?

Doesn't seem like it Sube, what a wonderful spectacle tomorrow night, if Scott turns up to ride and the ref doesn't allow him to, and Mr Sandhu throws a hissy fit on camera Mind you I hope the camera pans in on the handsome young Aussie who is making his Witches debut tomorrow night, certain to set the young girls hearts a flutter is Kozza.

Well this is the official lineup of the Witches, taken from the official website, however your guess is as good as mine who they will be facing:
Witches On Sky Tonight Against Coventry Ipswich travel to Brandon today for an Elite League 'A' fixture against the Coventry Bees, The meeting is scheduled to be shown live on Sky Sports 2.
Kozza Smith returns for his first meeting in Witches kevlars since his withdrawal, through injury, in the first home meeting of the 2009 season.
The Coventry line-up is still to be confirmed following proposed team changes announced late last week.
Ipswich
Jarek Hampel (8.28) Leigh Lanham (C) (5.08) Tobi Kroner (5.67) Danny King (6.13) Piotr Swiderski (7.65) Dawid Stachyra (4.00) Kozza Smith (3.03)

Coventry team confirmed, apparently: www.coventrymotorspeedway.com/news.php?extend.841.1So, the Bees get their way and the asphalt plant that has no doubt been on stand-by can relax and enjoy what remains of the Bank Holiday weekend. On the face of it, shameful stuff from the BSPA. But no doubt they are desperate to have the global superstar back in the Elite League and don't care about probity or integrity.
