This week sees the Sky cameras pay their first visit of the season to the heartland of revolutionary speedway down by the side of the lake in Essex, where the visitors are the Coventry Bees. And that means one of Britain's bold, brave, misfiring GPers in the person of Chris Harris and, of course, the pansy-voiced Peter Oakes. Both teams have been hit by injuries this season, with the Hammers losing serial-injury victim Joonas Kylmakorpi (is he the Elite League's equivalent of Ross Brady, or is that Oliver Allen?), but I gather that he's hoping to make his return in this televised fixture. But as bad a blow as the loss of Kylmakorpi has been, the Bees have had it worse, losing both Ben Barker and Oliver Allen to broken legs in meetings on the continent. The Hammers should be at full strength, but the Bees will have facilities to cover Barker and Allen. And they'll also have Edward Kennett (no doubt eager as ever to act the prick in interviews on live television) who is no slouch around the Arena Essex Raceway. However, the Bees could be suspect at reserve, but that's also Lakeside's weakness. It should be an interesting meeting, but I think the homesters should have a bit too much for the Bees. Let the screaming commence and hopefully with plod getting in for nowt they'll cart the screaming imbecile off for being a public nuisance.

And the global superstar's crash helmet carrier believes Lakeside's Lee Richardson is one of the "key men" in this fixture: www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,25212,12276_5325068,00.html The picture denoted "Richardson: could be star man" shows a rider wearing Australian kevlars, which, I assume, is not Lee Richardson (it's Ryan Sullivan, unless I am very much mistaken).

I've seen worse - Ht 3 was a good race, with a superb move from Richardson entering turn 3.

Richardson just keeps going up and up in my estimation. A great overtake, then tries to team-ride Robson in heat 5 until he realises Harris is too fast, and goes out and does his job to win.
