So with the Tigers leading comfortably 28-14 after 7 heats , and seemingly cruising through to meet Rye House in the quarter-finals of the KO Cup , we had a downpour of biblical proportions that completely flooded the track within minutes - making carrying on impossible . 5 minutes from the track and the pavements were bone dry Paulco - well I've got my fingers crossed for better weather next weekend. EDIT: Oh bugger. The forecast on Countryfile is heavy rain from Thursday onwards.

This week's visitors to the Messiahdome is , yes you've guessed it - it's the bloody Monarchs . This will be the second encounter between the sides this weekend ( weather permitting ) . So after poodling around the tricktrack at 10 mph on Friday - it's high speed speedway all the way on Sunday . Teams will be Glasgow Tigers 1 The Messiah 2 R/R 3 Denmark's worst speedway rider 4 Trainee Messiah 5 Scotland's Number 1 6 The no longer bloody Mitchell Davey 7 And just for Genghis ................John Branney ;D Them 1 Cryin Ryan 2 R/R 3 The Invisible speedway rider ..................maybe 4 One Track Tully 5 Matilda 6 The Pole 7 Wee Sean The referee is Chris Durno . Should be a cracker for the visiting Genghis to witness - c'mon the stripes .

3 Denmark's worst speedway rider Paulco - did you ever see Lars (AKA Last) Munkedal in "action"? He's actually proof that Hans Nielsen is the best-ever team-rider - Hans even managed to shepheard Last home a couple of times.

Fingers crossed that the predicted rain arrives a few hours later than expected.
I'm hoping to get in at least one completed meeting during my weekend of Scottish speedway, but I've been following this sport long enough to take the rough with the smooth.
Looks like a potential cracker. Despite last night's abandoned meeting, this is probably the key fixture to the Northern Group of the Premier Trophy. Three points for Glasgow would put them in a very strong position.

And it ends in disaster for friend paulco as the heathen Tigers lose to their nearest and not so dearest at the Messiahdome: GLASGOW..441..S Parker..1',3,3,3,2' = 12+22..B Bekker..2,0,0,0 = 23..P J Larsen..R/R 4..J Grajczonek..0,1,0,1,1' = 3+15..J Grieves..3,3,3,3,1,3 = 166..M Davey..2,3,0,0,1,1,2 = 97..J Branney..1',1,W = 2+1EDINBURGH..461..R Fisher..3,3,2,2,1 = 112..A Summers..R/R 3..T H Jonasson..2,2,2,3,0 = 94..A Tully..1',1',3,1',3 = 9+35..M Wethers..2,1',1',0 = 4+26..M Rajkowski..3,2',2,2',2,2',0 = 13+37..S Stoddart..0,0,0,0 = 0Taken from: www.monarchs-chatzone.co.ukOn the face of it, a poor performance from the Trainee Messiah did the Tigers no favours at all and they were totally outgunned at reserve by Michal Rajkowski.
