Apparently Glasgow's Messiah has announced over in Australia that 2009 will be his last season racing in the United Kingdom.

Very true. He indicated as much when he left his post as chairman of the SRA. Apparently he is the track announcer at the Adelaide track today. Let's hope for the sake of the poor Australians (and Vaclav Verner) in attendance that he doesn't let Dick Barrie, who is also there, have a go.

Its a shame. Still haven't forgotten first thing I heard him say the 4TT at Peterborough in 07... Some guy asked him what the bit of fluff on his chin was, and he replied "Thats a bum tickler mate!"

It amuses me that Shane Parker is thought of as some sort of messiah. What does that make Steve Lawson or Kenny Mckinna then? All I can think of is loads of blown Jawas in 1990. That, and walking on his hands up the home straight after going through the fence one meeting at Foxhall. EDIT- he chucked a bucket of water over Kevin Long as well as I seem to remember.

Parker has been sensational for Glasgow the majority of the time
His form is excellent, one of the best PL riders around Ashfield
At times his form on the road has been questionable IMO, maybe you get that used to seeing him fly around Ashfield you just expect that every where
He has entertained me for the last few years, I will miss him
And I am pretty convinced he will be near or above a 10 point average this season
