and here's the full story from the BSPA site:-
THE Newcastle “Sapphire Engineering” Diamonds have announced that Steve Boxall will leave the club this week with a new Dane coming in as a replacement in time for the away match at Somerset on Friday.
Coming into the side will be René Bach (b: 7-June-1990, in Hjordkaer, Rødekro, Denmark), an exciting young prospect with strong Peterborough connections.
Co-promoter Darryl Illingworth said: “We feel we gave Steve a good run in our side, but I doubt anyone could describe his scores as anything other than disappointing and with time ticking every onwards a change had to be made as frustrations were running high, although I have to say it may not be the last change before we’re finished!
“I’d like to thank Steve, for his time with us and wish him well with getting fixed up with another club as soon as possible, and also welcome one of the best 19-year-old prospects coming out of Denmark at the moment, René Bach.”
Bach joins Newcastle on an assessed 7.00 average and will make his Diamond’s debut at Somerset this coming Friday evening coming to the Tyneside club from Elite League Peterborough Panthers whom he made his UK debut for in their final meeting of 2008.
He also took part in the Panthers’ 2009 pre season practice session, riding for a Danish select side against Peterborough and notching up a few matches for the main team as well early on this season.
Panthers’ promoter Mick Bratley said of Bach: “I have had my eye on René for a long time and have followed his progress closely; he is without doubt a talent and has a great future in the sport.”
Illingworth continued: “I would like to publically thank and state what a pleasure it has been working with Rick Frost and the Peterborough promotion in order to secure René at Newcastle for the remainder of 2009 and I have to say these negotiations have been a real breath of fresh air.
“The deal is a novel one in many respects as the goal is to get René into the Elite League with the Panthers in 2010 with our Diamonds getting the benefit of his first main UK appointment, although there’s an option that should it be agreed he’s not ready for the Elite next year we can have him back before he goes to the Panthers in 2011.
“The deal also includes the bringing of Peterborough’s current air fence to the Newcastle Stadium at some point in the near future to dramatically increase the safety of racing in Byker which is a hugely exciting aspect of the whole arrangement.
“The air fence will be our property although is naturally a very pricey item therefore we may well be offering each panel to sponsors to ease the burden we see as completely necessary with rider safety always head and shoulders above everything else.
“Again I have to thank Peterborough for their assistance in every aspect of the arrangements.”
To put Bach’s achievements in his homeland in perspective, current Newcastle favourite, Kenni Larsen is categorised in Denmark as a Grade C rider whereas young Bach is classed as a Grade B indicating the high regard his home authority hold him in.

NEWCASTLE'S new signing Rene Bach is still set for an Elite League future with Peterborough - depending on his progress with the Diamonds.
Bach, who replaces Steve Boxall at Brough Park, could move up next year or in 2011 if that is felt more appropriate.
Newcastle co-promoter Darryl Illingworth said: "These negotiations have been a real breath of fresh air, and the deal also includes bringing Peterborough's current air-fence here."

A very curious signing for the Diamonds and Boxall shafted in the process - I don't think he's managed to get a new average, so it'll be tough to find him another team place on his original average.
