Apparently it's Richard Lawson?

So, apart from much huffing and puffing, what's going on in Barbaria? Richard Lawson is signed and sealed as No 7, while Joe Haines - with, apparently, Mr Denham's cries of "Judas" ringing in his ears - has moved to Rye House. It's also reported that the Nos 4 and 6 positions have been filled, but who are the riders filling them? Adam Roynon, a native of Barrow-in-furness, is rumoured to be a sure-fire Comet in 2009, but I don't see him as a No 4 - he's a heat leader, surely? John Branney seems a safe enough bet for the No 6 position. Okay, he has almost zero ability, but he gives of his all and he's popular among the barbarians. And then there's Charles Wright. He'd fit into the No 4 slot easily enough. But he made zero progress last year without elder brother James in the side. Of Workington's heat leader trio from last season there seems to be no news whatsoever and I can see the situation where all three are elsewhere. Nermark may not have forgiven Mr Denham for fining him earlier in the season, while Kauko Nieminen seems set for the Elite League and Carl "Mr Workington" Stonehewer didn't really do much last season. Word on the BSF street seems to be a move for Somerset's Jason Doyle. My own personal thoughts are that Workington would be well advised to go for former hero James Wright and that Mr Denham would be well advised to keep his opinions to himself.

I believe big bro James has been told there is no place for him at Swindon in 2009 so let the speculation begin.

That's no surprise - he isn't Elite League standard, not even the sub-standard Elite League that is likely next season. He's unSteady Lite. I think Birmingham expressed an interest in him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Barbaria.

Yes, here's the news: www.newsandstar.co.uk/sport/comets/1.278008Branney has zero talent, but he never gives less than 100%. I'd guess the "big name" will be either Kevin Doolan on James "unSteady Lite" Wright.

Didn't stop him for being the match-winner against your lot in the Young Shield Final.

Didn't stop him for being the match-winner against your lot in the Young Shield Final. My lot? He only defeated one opposition rider all night and that rider had an engine failure during the race.
