It's the penultimate race this weekend, and another early start - though thankfully not quite as early as the last one. Qualifying starts on Saturday morning at 7am, and the race will be live at 8am on Sunday. Can Lewis keep a cool head? Meanwhile, some very good footage of the incidents in Japan here: www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2008/10/8530.html

So what will Hamilton be penalised for this weekend? And will innocents such as Bourdais dare to race the Ferraris, instead of moving aside and letting them let through as Mosley and his stewards demand. It's a joke that Bourdais was penalised last weekend (for something that was Massa's fault ), while Raikkonen got away with shunting Sutil out of the race at Monaco. No consistency at all.

And amazingly it looks like Hamilton has been able to keep his pole position. No doubt he's receive a drive-though penatly tomorrow for some minor "indiscretion" instead.

Or Raikkonen might accidently put him off at the first corner to allow the other Red Bastard to win , unless it rains of course which would lead to some Massa hilarity .

No mistakes from Lewis today, so as long as the FIA don't make up a new rule, he takes a 7 point lead to Brazil Just a shame that the race itself was one of the most boring races I have ever seen.

Agreed - the most boring race of the season, and not worth getting up early on a Sunday for. Still, it's going down to the wire, so Brazil should at least have some interest.

Well that was a borefest, but at least Hamilton give the stewards no excuse to penalise him, with a flawless display. It would now be a travesty if he didn't clinch the championship, as he would be 14 points clear if not for the amended results in Belguim and Japan. As for the Ferraris, really they should have swapped positions during the pitstops. Had McLaren showed such blatant team orders, you could bet that the stewards would be throwing penalties around. Massa was shite today, being easily outpaced by his team-mate - Massa would make such an unworthy champion, and doesn't deserve his name to go alongside the Brazillian greats - Fittipaldi, Piquet and Senna.

I don't get to see many races , due to the fact that i'm at the speedway every Sunday , but i got up for this today . I'm afraid i gave up on it after about 25 laps though .

Massa has had the best of everything at Ferrari, and let's say a lot of luck with stewards decisions, and still he makes hamfisted job of challenging for the championship. I thought the suggestion that Ferrari are 'starting to feel constrained by their driver' was quite amusing. What a tedious circuit and boring GP though.

I really hope Hamilton can clinch the title now , for the sake of the sport really . To have such an average driver as Massa being World Champion will do the credibility of the sport no good at all .

As for the Ferraris, really they should have swapped positions during the pitstops. Still, good comedy value to have Massa telling the world of how brilliantly he drove to catch and overtake Raikkonen. I'm surprised Raikkonen hasn't died of shame.

Did you see how Raikonnen was staring at the floor for much of the press conference? I think it finally dawned on Raikonnen just how crap he has been this year, that he's behind Massa in the standings and forced to let him through. Maybe it means that we'll see the real Raikonnen again in 2009, although I can't help feel this year has somewhat damaged his standing, just as 2007 somewhat damaged Alonso's.

And if Hamilton hadn’t ploughed into the back of the stationary Ferrari in Canada, Kimi could have only been five points down going into China, and still in with a chance of retaining his crown.
