Hoping to source a decent number 8 for 2009 - if the cockle picking from this season is anything to go by.. Up the Rockets!

I reckon over the two legs KL will be too strong for Rye House.
Hope it's a good one for you to enjoy FP.

Rye House 52 Kings Lynn 41..Very good meeting - best I have seen at Rye House to be honest... Best side definately won over the 2 legs.. If Only Ekberg had been fit in the first leg.. BTW - £1700 raised for Stefan on Saturday evening.. Well done to all involved..

If Only Ekberg had been fit in the first leg.. BTW - £1700 raised for Stefan on Saturday evening.. Well done to all involved.. He was fit at the start of it, just not at the end. Indeed, not even by the end of Ht 1. That's a good sum of money raised and I hope the fellow makes a speedy recovery.

It was a good amount raised, though cant say I particularly liked reading the 'full credit to rockets fans for the amount raised' part in the speedway star, considering the amount of stars fans in attendance and donating that night. Were a couple of good meetings, though, Rye nearly had us in the second leg at one stage.

Yeah for sure schumi... I was reading the BSF thread about the Kings Lynn meeting and the injuries sustained by the "Northern Star" - but it was getting all rather shitty and pikey Chapman jnr started posting and then in true bsf style the mods deleted a load of posts inc some by Pikey chapman himself..
I do wonder whether Stefan will return to the track again.. He ain't getting no younger and sustained a few nasty knocks this season..

Yes, I read that too - some strong stuff on there before it was deleted. How many PL tracks do have air-fences, out of interest? I know the argument is that they cost too much, but Sweden's economy is poor at the moment as well.
SVEMO have passed a rule that all Elitserien teams must have air-fences in place for the coming season in light of the serious injuries sustained this year. Teams who didn't already have one are either getting grants from the municipality or are asking supporters for donations, with accounts on their websites for fans to pay in to, which have so far raised over 100,000 kr in some cases. Could be workable here?

Yes, I read that too - some strong stuff on there before it was deleted. How many PL tracks do have air-fences, out of interest? I cannot understand why they cannot be shared or hired. Surely they are pretty adaptable with regards to size and shape of track, easily transportable and can be secured and erected within a couple of hours.. Just seems that some of these promoters don't value the lives of the guys that put their necks on the line week after week in the name of entertainment.

It certainly would have been avoided if he hadnt gone straight into the bloody thing, but its a good point, all tracks should now have air fences as standard
