I'm not sure I like the new scoring system, it has led to riders not racing for every win, but settling for 2nd or even 3rd in finals.

The GP's lost a lot for me when they changed from the old knockout format. The racing has never really been the same since.

Too many riders involved with the knock out system though Friggers, cast your mind back & remember some of the dross that line up in the gp's in thosedays. If they brought back that system the likelyhood is we'd see riders like Dryml re-qualifying year after year.

Looks like Nicki Pedersen saw it the same way as Subedei and I did. From http://www.speedwayworld.tv:
"Then you see the one with Gollob and I couldn't understand why he (Crump) didn't just want to come second. Gollob passed him fair and square, and he was dropping it before he even touched him."

The expression - 'Well he WOULD say that wouldn't he?' springs to mind!

The only interesting thing about Germany now is going to be the fight for eighth place. And whether they can increase the 3,000 tickets already sold.

I can thoroughly recommend a trip to gelsenkirchen, the girls and myself had a great time and the Maritim was a very nice hotel. Just dont go to the speedway.

Interestingly, I was talking to someone on the way back from Lonigo (who everyone will soon hear a lot more of ) who's been to every GP so far this year and will be giving Gelsenkirchen a miss...............that sums it up.

According to whispers, this will be the last GP staged at Gelsenkirchen. Probelms with behind the scenes stuff and just generally awful sales so far. Apparently the German Speedway clubs aren't supporting it either.
Gorican have plans to build a roof over their stadium....
