From Berwick's website:
Tonight the Berwick Bandits travel the short distance north to take on local rivals the Edinburgh Monarchs (7.30pm) in the Premier League, but it has now been confirmed there’s one unexpected change to the line up.
Hungarian rider Norbert Magosi has unexpectedly retuned to his home country with no plans to come back for the Bandits in 2008.
Berwick boss, Peter Waite, who has been chasing his eastern bloc star all week said: "Norbert has decided that he must return home this week for purely personal reasons and we wish him very well in his future ventures.
"There's no malice on either side and we are still very much in good friendly contact, but he has left the club on his own volition.
"Under the circumstances we have applied to the BSPA to be granted a facility to cover his absence for 28 days after which we will have to view the options available, but for now we anticipate that the rider replacement rule will be applied, and with a good solid remaining set of riders, we should be able to plug the gap successfully."

And it looks like this meeting ended on a sour note, with an altercation between Edinburgh's Aaron Summers and Berwick's Michal Makovsky in the pits after Makovsky was excluded for falling in the first attempt to run Ht 15. Reports suggest that Makovsky threw Summers' crash helmet across the pits, causing terminal damage to the crash helmet. The referee was called to the pits to deal with the incident.

Well after seeing that shambolic display last night by Chris Durno, I have lost any faith in visiting Armadale. On more than one occasion last night i could think of all 4 back(benefit of doubt and all that) however, having attended more than one meeting at Armadale this year and not just when Berwick are there, the refs seem to bottle any decisions they have to make. Not once have i seen a Monarch being excluded for anything more than breaking the tapes, it just beggars belief and Mr Durno was at it last night in heat 15. My view was that Summers brought Makovsky down entering the 3rd bend, what happens green light on Makovsky excluded! robbing us public of a great race. Hats off to Summers in heat 8 who rode an excellent 1st/2nd bend to pass Makovsky, the lad clearly has the talent and yes maybe he was going for it in heat 15 my problem is with the decision made by Mr Durno. I know the Monarchs faithful love Makovksy enough to give him a special name but he is not the kind of rider who lays it down looking for the refs help, he is not distant to your man who they call 'The Fish' who for my liking can be just as 'forceful' as the Makovsky.

Dont know what it is about that place mate , but the away team always gets the rough end of referee decisions there . Welcome to my world .

I don't suppose it's because the referee could possibly get it right at times? It doesn't matter what referee it is, you all seem to think there is a master plan for all referees to be on the side of the Monarchs. Talk about paranoia

I am no more blinkered than any other fan.
While we are all here is there anything else you all want to lay at Edinburgh's door? What about the war in Georgia?
I mean the list is getting long now:
All referees are homers We ride like girls The track is crap The track isn't a proper speedway track We have a huge and unfair home track advantage Our riders are dirty Our fans are all blinkered The stadium is a dump (oooops that one is true) ;D
Hey ho!

I actually think Armadale is a decent, well, prepared track and in general you have good team and that it is up to speedway riders to have a go and get stuck in when visiting. However like i said i have been to Armadale numerous times this year and witnessed home riders getting the decisions EVERY time! Thus spoiling a race/meeting as the Monarchs are more than capable of beating everyone in the league this year on their own circuit.
