Yes, it should've been abandoned after 5 heats. And it would've been if the Sky cameras hadn't been there. Better to have the paying public refunded then shafted by an unseemly panic to call the meeting off after Ht 13. Shameful, really. a stance almost as risible as the one you take against nicholls

Extremely boring stuff tonight. Was amusing just to see the pissed off look on a thoroughly drenched Tatum's face at the end, though, when he was forced to stay for the links for the re-run of the semis and final of the GP. As for calling off the meeting after 13 heats, I'm not quite sure what the alternative was. And Sweden & Poland are far worse offenders in calling off meetings halfway through, but Sub would never mention that.

And Sweden & Poland are far worse offenders in calling off meetings halfway through, but Sub would never mention that. Not in Elitserien. Only one meeting I can think of was called off after three or four heats. They haven't had much luck with the weather this past fortnight, but all the others have been called before the start. And to further defend Sweden, as I was saying to Bryn and Paulco, they announced their fixtures early on and haven't changed a single one. That, I like.

Schumi, ahem, the Conference League standard fixture we were due to go to last Wendesday was changed into an Elite League fixture at 24 hours notice. And one year the vital fixture that decided relegation was called off after Heat 9 - at which point the result stood. Not a very satisfactory way to go about things. The Swedish Elite League is a damn sight better than the British Elite League, though.

Schumi, ahem, the Conference League standard fixture we were due to go to last Wendesday was changed into an Elite League fixture at 24 hours notice. Yes, because of a rain-off. But not one that happened halfway through - which is the point you were trying to prove! And anyway, isn't it a testament to them that they can rearrange a fixture in 24 hours? And one year the vital fixture that decided relegation was called off after Heat 9 - at which point the result stood. Not a very satisfactory way to go about things. Bloody hell - not one year?! The Swedish Elite League is a damn sight better than the British Elite League, though. I personally think it's the best in the world.

No, the best league in the world is the British Premier League, followed by the British Conference League. The Polish Extraleague is third (better than Sweden simply because the riders in Poland try to kung fu the opposition riders off the bikes ) and the Swedish Elite League is fourth. The British Elite League comes around 100th.

They have a set format that works, no stupid rules, the best riders in the world, and they don't bully their riders into turning up against doctor's orders when they have concussion. Okay, so the economy currently isn't great, but there are riders in all of the three leagues (Sweden, Poland, Britain) who haven't been paid. The fact is, riders WANT to be there (discounting Nicholls, but it's his loss), they encourage their youngsters, and they don't keep messing around and changing things unnecessarily.

British is still best, Schumi - just not our fucked up Elite League EDIT: And desperately searching for things wrong with Swedish speedway (because there's not much), their programmes are just advertising brouchures and are crap.

Well, if that's the worst you can find I'm satisfied I'm right.
