Should be a comfortable home win. Probably an understatement.

And it was an understatement, as Edinburgh turned over the Brummies by a massive margin (65:24). For the Monarchs everyone was among the points, with Ryan Fisher scoring a full maximum (18 from 6 rides) and Aaron Summers a paid maximum (8+4 from 4 rides). For the Brummies, Kyle Legault top-scored with 9 points from 5 rides, while newcomer Tomasz Piszcz collected 5+1 from 5 rides. The Brummies' top man - Jason Lyons - recorded just 2 points from 4 rides. So, barring a miracle, it looks like the Monarchs are going to win the Premier Trophy. To be honest, it'd be a surprise if they didn't win at Birmingham.

The track was tricky for both teams but only one team was interested in going for it. Such is the enthusiasm and drive of this Edinburgh team they just want to deliver the goods. Tomasz Piszcz, Kyle Legault and Jack Roberts were the only Brummies to put up a bit of a fight. Felt sorry for Piszcz, who incidentally had no problem riding the track, when he was romping home for the win in heat 15 only to suffer an engine problem. Legault was twice impeded by Jason Lyons and I am wondering if Lyons has fully recovered from his injury as he wasn't turning the bike as tight on the bends as he normally does.
Once again the Brummie fans were there cheering on their lads. It's a shame their team didn't show half the enthusiasm of these great fans and it was great to meet up with them again.
