This week sees another Premier League interlude for Sky, with Messrs screaming imbecile and Tatum MBE heading north of the border for a clash between heathens and barbarians. Yes, it's the title chasing heathen Monarchs against the barbarians from Workington at the re-named Scotwaste Arena in the West Lothian badlands. With both sides missing their No 1 riders, Reading's Mark Lemon will be a heathen for the night, while Sky's new favourite Tai "Wuffy, Wuffy, Wuffy" Woffinden will be a barbarian for the night. It should be a comfortable win for the Monarchs, with their reserve pairing of Tully and Summers making mincemeat of the hapless lower order of the Comets. I can only see Woffinden and, to a lesser extent, Nieminen causing the rampant Edinburgh team any sort of problems.

So looking forward to this clash. Workington usually ride well at the Dale but I think we will win by around 10-12 points.
I just hope the weather is kind so the track can be in great nick (like it was on Friday) and the teams produce a great match the PL can be proud of.

Can't see this being a meeting the PL would be proud off, certainly not with the size of the Edinburgh track.
Workington will miss Nermark for this one, he can ride the track, as he proved last year when he won the Scottish Open.
But we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

He was interviewed during the coverage of the Czestochowa versus Leszno meeting this afternoon and it seems that the Czestochowa chairman has bought him a Fiat car as a present.

Well that really said a lot for PL racing . It was more one sided than the usual Monday night racing

No comments on this? Okay, I'll give it a go, but I don't watch PL racing and I appreciate this probably wasn't typical of the track/riders, etc. I'm afraid I rather lost interest after heat 7 when I realised I didn't think I'd seen a single race run to conclusion on the first go. Disappointed not to see Woffinden in full flow, and I always thought Stonehewer was better than he was tonight. I was told to keep an eye out for Nieminen, but thought it was a bit of a poor show when Jonasson put his bike down (and himself into the fence) to avoid him, and Kauko didn't acknowledge him or check he was okay when lying on the track. Also thought it poor that Thomas couldn't pronounce his own rider's name properly, and spent the whole evening complaining. Have to give the Monarchs credit (although the track didn't do anyone any favours) but I think their performance was probably down to Workington being so poor. And apologies for not knowing his name (Summers? The guy with blonde, curly hair), but I felt so sorry for him, as he was clearly uncomfortable giving that interview. I wanted to give him a hug! Sorry if that offends anyone, but I'm just saying it as I saw it.

The Stadium of mince in all it's glory . Never mind i'm sure Sky will eventually get it right and pick a competative PL match one day . Poor old Stoney , a mere shadow of his former self . Hope he chucks it at the end of the season or he'll end up like Les Collins , which is always a shame cause you want to remember these guys as they were and not as embarrassing has-beens .

The Stadium of mince in all it's glory . Never mind i'm sure Sky will eventually get it right and pick a competative PL match one day . They did when they picked Reading vs Rye House. I think part of the problem is most of the PL meetings have been at tracks with a big home track advantage - Rye, IOW, Edinburgh - you'll rarely get a good close meeting. Mere shadow!! It's a huge bloody shadow!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZHKTFOuGb8

Workington were embarrassing to watch last night. Simple as that. Young Ben Taylor and Charles Wright were the best for the Comets. I think Sky missed a trick in not showing the Monarchs away from home with their well balanced 1-7. Somerset perhaps? Seeing as it is a Wednesday night fixture anyway.

Getting pissed of with this "big home track advantage" crap Every team has home track advantage. Did we have such a great home track advantage when other teams put on a good display? Rye House took us to a last heat decider so where was the advantage there Where was the great advantage when we were shite in 2004-2006 I don't suppose the way we dominate meetings this season is anything to do with the fact that Edinburgh have put together a great team Workington have ridden our track many times so know their way around it and in the past have been one of the teams that pushed Edinburgh hard. Workington mostly were shite and Stoney was just not interested. He never is when it's wet. The track staff worked miracles to get the meeting on at all and the track although difficult at first (because of the rain) still mostly produced times we have seen all season at the Dale. Also the inevitable happened when SKY made it the bloody Tai Woffinden show I say well done to the Edinburgh promotion and team for trying to put on a show. It's such a shame it's been thrown back in their faces with condemnation. The outpouring of bile and vitriol on the fucking BSF is an absolute disgrace. Its not Edinburgh's fault that we just got on with it and did what was needed to be done...ie get another two points. I think it was CrazySue who said the true words "the curse of SKY"

I've finally got round to watching this meeting ML, and its actually on at the moment. I have to say I have seen far worse meetings on Sky, ok its not a classic but the Edinburgh fans aren't claiming that it is. As for the comments on the BSF, thats par for the course these days, nobody interested in what others have to say anymore, just out to nit-pick and criticise everyone and everything not connected with their own club. Have to agree with the Tai Woffinden show comments, but thats down to the nodding dogs. I'm a big fan of Tai himself....even if he is riding against girls!... and as Schumi said a shame we didn't get to see him in full flow!
