Apparently Allen Trump is set to become the major shareholder in the Mildenhall Tigers.
The cynical side of me says he's doing this to get hold of the PL licence for Exeter, and then return Mildy to CL, so he has feeder clubs from CL to PL, and then PL to EL.
It has been verbally agreed and is now in the hands of solicitors, hopes for a completion in 2 weeks.

However I've long been an advocate of all three tiers working together as a feeder system so I approve. Added bonus is securing the future of Mildenhall. All it needs now is a few more clubs to get together to provide feeds to the upper leagues and then for the big one AN INDEPENDENT BODY TO ADMINISTER THE RULES

I think you're right, badge. I'll be a tad pissed off mind, as what's the point in having an owner like that as wealthy as he is if all he wants us to do is to go back to the Conference League?

Perhaps he got to become wealthy by not unnecessarily throwing his money away? Mildenhall has always been a marginal track at the best of times, and I can't see how trying to run at a track at an unsustainable level is sensible. Far less if a promoter is having to continually stick their hands in their pockets.

Possibly being a fan of the club has coloured his judgement and dabbling in promoting has been an expensive lesson for him . Somebody like Trump , who has no emotional ties with the club , will be in a better position to take the club forward . And if that means regrouping in the CL for a season or two - then so be it .

As I posted on BSF there are a couple of things in that post that don't make sense.
Why would Simon Barton choose the Lynn offer if the other was just as good? and if the other offer was so brilliant why did the share holders go for the Chapmans?
I've no bloody idea but something in that post Just doesn't make sense.

Taken from the BSF:
Have just received a call from King's Lynn where Jonathan Chapman has announced the takeover of Mildenhall Speedway by Kings Lynn, as voted for by the clubs shareholders at the weekend.
Paul Lee and Henning Loof signed!
No decision as to what league we will be in PL or CL (maybe Kings Lynn will go EL!!) yet.
Sure the Kings Lynn fans will fill in the gaps when they get home .

Official Mildenhall Press Release taken from BSF I can't say I'm a huge fan of the Chapmans, but fair play to them it seems they've saved Mildy from the brink & whatever I think of them, they certainly ain't no Hortons! Good news at last for Mildy fans after a horrible season knowing their speedway at whatever level is secure for next season. How I'd love to be in their position right now.
