Just like everyone but me could see that Simon Stead was a class act and destined for greatness? Simon Stead stayed in the Premier League for far too long, which is surely one of the reasons he has never failed to reach his full potential (in the Premier League, he could get away with locking up every two seconds ). So surely James Wright should be applauded on not taking the easy option and instead moving up to the Elite League. Then again it could just be your anti-Workington bias (yes, we have noticed ) cropping up again. Would call it an anti Brit bias

Not only is he a Brit but also he's a former Comet. And being a Berwick fan (although he tries to deny it ), Subedei isn't a big fan of Workington or Newcastle.

No Schumi, thats about normal! I predicted before the meeting that Johnno would be trailing along behind Swindon's PL guest and he didn't disappoint 3+1 from 5 rides on his home track is pretty dire (again...)

Well, there's a surprise, LW and Madam Hooch are out in force once again, knocking Johno. I hope Louis is back soon and the Witches resume their usual habits - i.e. losing. Maybe then you'll appreciate the difference that an inspirational skipper such as Johno has made to the Witches fortunes this season.

So I'm being unfair to Johnno, but you're being just as unfair to Loobie. He's a great Captain and is always running around encouraging the team and usually manages to score some decent points as well. As I said before I watch what goes on on the track not in the pits, but I have a spy in the pits, so I'll get back to you on that one.

Johnston's only worth having at reserve. The problem Ispwich have is that Tobias Kroner is much the same.

The fact is since Louis was injured, Ipswich's fortunes under new skipper Johnston have transformed. Johno is doing his job this season - both on and off the track. But he's not a heat-leader. If you expected him to score double figures every meeting, then more fool you. Would your spy be a WWoS member by any chance?

Johno is doing his job this season - both on and off the track. But he's not a heat-leader. If you expected him to score double figures every meeting, then more fool you. Would your spy be a WWoS member by any chance? Time of the month, deary? Even it up? Well, I've watched Johnno's results over the months, and they don't make for pretty reading, but having not been there to witness him I've said nothing. Last night, he wasn't just coming in at the back, he was trailing around by some margin. Okay, so he might be a great captain, and rally round in the pits, and all credit to him if he does, but I don't think you're giving the others enough credit. Schramm I've seen a few times now, and whilst he might not always score well, he's a trier, and seeing him crash and run to check his opponent was okay speaks volumes about his mentality. The Poles can certainly take credit for a good season for Ipswich. Hampel may not have set the world alight away from Foxhall, but he scores steadily, especially at home, with Miskowiak backing him up. Swiderski - well, I don't have to comment about him. I'm sure Ipswich fans will say he's been one of their best signings, and little Tobi (at reserve, where he should be - not Johnno) just gets better and better. It's not one man who makes a team.

Very good post Schumi, but I have to pick you up on one point! Little Tobi?? ;D Have you seen him recently, he's double the height of the likes of Chris Harris and Wieslaw Jagus. Seriously tho, the fans love our boys at Ippo even Bobby who is the most frustrating rider since...well Kim Jansson. but although Johnno may be the riders favourite he just does nothing for me with his riding. Shame really as I'm told in several quarters that hes an excellent bloke to have around. Heres hoping Johnno makes me eat my words before the season ends if he lasts that long
