Well, bugger me. Wasn't expecting that from Swindon.

No, Ht 8 was a surprise. But Ht 10 wasn't - Wright really is unSteady Lite and belongs in the Premier League. A good turns 1-2 in Ht 9 by Hampel, but that's about it as far as quality speedway goes. The rest has just been dross.

With a GSA of 5.23 (an improvement of 0.38 on last year), i think Wright is doing well in the Elite League.

If Kelvin Tatum mentions Foxhall is a "technical track" once more, I'm gonna drive over to Foxhall and bitchslap him aside the head! It's only technical if you can't ride it ;D

Steve Johnston just desperate to get back down to reserve. And - facing facts - he's only really worth anything at reserve.

Poor meeting for James tonight but he puts in many a sparkling performance for his points. Not being a heatleader doesn't mean you belong in the PL. If it did, we'd all have 3 man teams. Poor show from Swindon, but not an unduly worrying one as it was riders like Mads and Troy who were dropping silly points and they can just as easily be match-winners on other occasions.

Nothing at all. I just don't rate him as being anything more than a Premier League heat leader.

Simon Stead stayed in the Premier League for far too long, which is surely one of the reasons he has never failed to reach his full potential (in the Premier League, he could get away with locking up every two seconds ). So surely James Wright should be applauded on not taking the easy option and instead moving up to the Elite League. Then again it could just be your anti-Workington bias (yes, we have noticed ) cropping up again.
