What did woofter Chapman say at the Kings Lynn versus Somerset meeting?
Seems he had a rant or something, can't find it on the BSF.

That man is a tosser, always has been always will be. He is far too free with his public condemnation of other teams and riders If sacking is the answer then why didn't he sack his own team when Birmingham tore them apart at Saddlebow Road.

You can say what you like about Jonathan Chapman, but since he got involved with PROMOTING at Lynn, the crowd levels have risen. There are not that many clubs that can say the same. Granted some people don't like him, or what he says, that I can understand but it seems to me that if a few more promoters did their job as well as he does, speedway wouldn't be in half such a mess as it is now.
One thing I will say in his defence, he never shies away from speaking to fans and neither does his father. When matches are called off after the public have been admitted, they are always at the gates talking to folk and where necessary apologising.
Jonathan has never tried to dodge any question I've ever put to him........there again he's known me a very long time so he probably daren't ;D

Maybe SL but does that give him the right to bad mouth other clubs and riders like that? It's not the first time he has done it and I am certain it won't be the last.

I don't really see where he "bad mouthed" anyone to be honest. I wasn't there, but from all accounts, KL fans and neutrals, Somerset were extremely poor and even neutrals said they did not APPEAR to be trying. All JC said was if HIS team had performed like that, he would sack them. Are you saying if you were a promoter and your team gave neutrals the impression that they were not trying, you would be happy? I admit JC could rephrase things sometimes, but he is very young, in comparison with almost all the other promoters. He appeals to the younger generation, that's the generation that we need to get interested in the sport to sustain it. He does rub people up the wrong way, I admit that, and I often don't agree with how he does things, but he gets results. He is high profile. Blending into the background does not put bums on seats, making an arse of yourself and to use your words "bad mouthing" other clubs does. He is safeguarding the future of my local club, for that he gets my admiration, cos when we are poor enough for other teams (and Edinburgh are not included in this cos they always put on a show) to actually come to Lynn and put up a fight, I want to return to watching speedway at Lynn again

Stir the fans up and get them through the gates. It used to happen between Oxford and Swindon. A week before Oxford were due at Blunsdon, they would invite Bernard Crapper and he would slag off Swindon over the mic. The result: a bumper crowd the following week. Look at last year, King's Lynn get hammered at Sheffield in the play-offs. Chapman says something like "The Sheffield fans shouldn't travel down, because we're going to trash them and still go through". The result: loads of Sheffield fans travel down to "show" Chapman, but he's the one laughing all the way to the bank.

Believe me, I have little time for the guy, but all SL says about him is right. But if you for one moment think it'll worry him what others say about him on internet forums then think again. He's the one making money hand over fist at the NA with various events happening there, it fuels him on all the more.
You should have seen the difference in Jason Doyle tho, after JC's little speech. Pity he left it so late in the meeting to make it. ;D
