Teams courtesy of the press release
EDINBURGH "SCOTWASTE" MONARCHS
1. Mark Lemon (G) 2. Thomas H Jonasson 3. Andrew Tully 4. Ryan Fisher 5. Matthew Wethers 6. Derek Sneddon (C) 7. Aaron Summers
RYE HOUSE "SILVERSKI" ROCKETS
1. Stefan Ekberg 2. Robert Mear 3. Tai Woffinden 4. Tommy Allen 5. Chris Neath (C) 6. Daniel Halsey 7. Luke Bowen
This will be one our hard matches. Rye usually do very well at the Dale and with the brilliant Tai Woffinden back from injury and rising star Robert Mear it could be a thriller.
I go for a 50 - 43 victory for the Monarchs. Let's hope the rain stays away.

well midnightlady - hope it stays dry for you. I see you have bitter Lemon in for Lawson.. (that's what my kids call him ) - good choice! I guess you have lost fire power now that Tully is now in the main body of the team and cannot take his mandatory 7 rides from reserve! You guys are unbeaten at home and Rye House haven't won on their travels in the premier league.. But as you say the performance of the Mear cat and the return to form of Tommy Allen could prove pivotal. So I'm going Monarchs 44, Rye House 46.

Well, it didn't stay dry, but the meeting went ahead and was probably a good deal closer than most people expected, with Edinburgh just winning (47-46). For Edinburgh the star performers were captain Derek "Desperate Deek" Sneddon who scored an impressive 12 points from 6 rides, which included four wins and two exclusions and Matthew Wethers who scored 8+2 from 5 rides, including claiming the second spot in Ht 15 that secured the win for the Monarchs. But, truth be told, the rest of the Monarchs were rather hit and miss, especially Ryan Fisher (4+1 from 4 rides) and Andrew Tully (6 from 4 rides) who seems to be struggling, perhaps understandably, with the N0 3 berth. For the Rockets it was the Tai Woffinden show, as the young starlet claimed a maximum 17+1 from 5 rides, including a 6 point T/R, but he received very solid backing from Chris Neath (12 from 5 rides).

According to reports it was another meeting almost ruined by the actions of one Graham Flint . Hopefully Midnight Lady or Merlin will be giving him a nomination later on then. Notice what happens with THJ turns up - Edinburgh nearly lose. I assume he will now be ruled out of action for the rest of the season with a broken toenail.

Merlin , ML and the rest of the Monarchs motley crew are down south for a few days . They can be found loitering suspiciously at Reading on Sunday , Coventry on Monday and Isle of Wight on Tuesday .
