Eastbourne have to be the favourites to go through to the next round of the cup, taking a lead of 32 points with them to Monmore Green. Chris Van Straaten has warned that this could be the last meeting for some of his team if they don't come up to scratch, and Erik Gundersen has recommended a young Dane to come in for the team.
Line ups:
Wolves:
1..R/R 2..A Dryml 3..N-K Iversen 4..N Klindt 5..D Howe 6..C Hefenbrock 7..K Hansen
Eastbourne:
1..S Nicholls 2..L Bridger 3..L Richardson 4..C Woodward 5..E Kennett 6..S Gustafsson 7..J Brundle

Erik Gundersen has recommended a young Dane to come in for the team. What's the word on who this may be? My guess is Simon Nielsen. To be fair, Wolves put up a spirited performance tonight, and at one stage they looked capable of pulling of an incredible aggregate victory.

Apparently Wolves plan to give him a run in their 80th anniversary meeting (whenever that is), so all will soon become clear I'm sure. I think Erik was instrumental in Jesper B joining Wolves all those years ago, the sad thing is he should be recommending riders to Cradley instead

No idea, but Simon wouldn't be a bad signing for the future, provided he was at reserve, although, to be honest, I can't see him doing much more than their reserves are currently. Genghis, Freddie's meant to be having a test run in Sweden, although he's not riding tonight. I guess he'll be at the GP.

Schumi, I guessed that myself - hence the So it looks like Lindgren is about to become the latest GP rider to take the piss out of league speedway. I wonder what Lupus has to say now?

Lupus says - let's see whether he rides at Cardiff and then whether he rides next Monday. If he does so then there is no case to answer as he has to ride somewhere first ...if he does not (providing he doesn't smash himself up in the GP of course!) then I will agree with you...unlike others I don't pick and choose who I critisie for such things....ANYONE who does such things are open to critisism imho!

Lupus - so it's OK for Freddie to ride in the Danish GP and even continue in that meeting after his fall, not ride anywhere else in the meantime, then ride in the British GP? I think you're guilty of double standards.

I think you're guilty of double standards. Are you deliberatly obtuse or what? Have you ever had an accident or injury that felt 'ok' at the time but when you woke up the next morning you felt like you'd been run over by a truck? I've had this happen twice and have every sympathy for anyone who has had the same. I was knocked of my motorbike (Suzuki 50!) back in the day (about 25 years ago actually! ) by a Royal Mail van. I actually felt okay afterwards and refused to go in the ambulance and even rode my bike home. The following morning I literally couldn't get out of bed! EVERYTHING hurt and I was covered in bruises - it took a good couple of weeks for me to walk 100 yards without crying in pain. My point is that Freddie could well have completed the meeting that night and not felt too bad but then felt terrible the next day. The fact he hasn't ridden at all since (rather than the 'Dryml' method of riding everywhere bu the UK!) shows he must have been genuinely injured - no-one would have given up two weeks wages unnecessarily!

Are you deliberatly obtuse or what? And again you resort to personal insults. Lupus, continue to live in your own little world then, where anyone who rides for Wolves can do no wrong.

The difference between us Rob is that I don't condemn people BEFORE they do something wrong!!! However as I said earlier... if he does not (ride)......then I will agree with you EDITED TO ADD: from the official Wolves site.... www.wolverhampton-speedway.com/news.php?extend.461.1Just thought you 'might' be interested......

Wolves website is the only one that manages to freeze my computer. Just thought I'd mention that.

Sorry Schumi - it works fine on mine! Mind you as 'The Screaming Imbecile' writes most of it it's probably a good thing for you!!!! ;D It basically says that Freddie is riding tomorrow night at Swindon - which kind of throws Rob's 'theory' about Freddie being a 'Dryml' out of the window!!!!

Lupus - hmmmm, Lindgren's still been picking and choosing his meetings if you ask me. How convenient that he chooses to make his comeback at Swindon, just down the road from Cardiff.

Explain how not riding since he was injured is 'picking and choosing' his meetings'? Picking and choosing would be to ride in Poland or Sweden and not ride in UK meetings. As I said before he has to make his 'comeback' at some time. If he was really picking and choosing he would wait until Saturday and then not ride again until Tuesday in Sweden!
