A second visit of the season to Kirkmanshulme Lane for the Sky cameras as they travel North to cover the meeting between speedway's Grand Old Lady and the Ipswich Witches. These are a couple of sides that I expected to be at the foot of the table, but they both made better starts than expected and Ipswich had a real "purple patch" a few weeks ago. But it also seems like a few weeks ago since they last actually rode. And that was a televised home defeat at the hands of the Poole Pirates. It looks like the Aces will be without Joe Screen and Lukasz Jankowski, with Rider Replacement in place for the former, and Jason Lyons guesting in place of the latter, which I'd say makes them stronger. And that should mean a home win. Let's just hope the fayre served up is a bit better than last week's or for the first Sky visit to Belle Vue this season.

Ipswich apparently have made a change to their riding order, with Swiderski riding at number one after a disappointing run of first heats for Hampel.

What a fucking bollocks decision by the wanker that is Tony Steele. Schramm had clearly layed his bike down to avoid Raun, who had locked up and was almost off, and the poor bugger got excluded for it. Excluded for being safe a rule now is it, Steele?

I thought he was a little hard done by, but it was one of those things. I was more impressed by how cool Schramm was, helping the rider in red, who'd crashed into him, and how he accepted the referee's decision. But I gave up with the meeting after heat 13.

Closely contested meeting tonight, swinging on a rarely crap decision from Tony Steele, with Chris Schramm excluding for laying his bike down to avoid Jonas "out of control" Raun And how brilliant was Gjedde in Heat 15 with his swoop around the outside to go from fourth to second.

Tony Steele is a cretin, pure and simple. He always - and I mean ALWAYS - takes the easy option.

Sub - wouldn't have the easy option in Heat 14 been all 4 back - it would have saved Tony Steele a phone call from Chris Morton. But instead the World's best referee took the correct decision to exclude Raun. But Heat 8 showed even Steele is fallible sometimes. Still we can be proud that Britain has the World's leading referee. ;D

I thought that as well - he could give lessons to other British riders who are far more experienced but less able to contain their frustration when things don't go their way...Hope that shunt from Raun didn't do him any damage

Well done to BV, what can I say, this R/R is going to be our undoing now I'm afraid, especially when the rider we most rely on, has a very rare "bad" meeting, and really feel for Schrammy, he doesn't get any luck unless it's bad , just hope he's OK. Well we have to pull our socks up and make sure we beat Peterboro on Thursday before our next 2 week break , Tobi, where have you gone honey we need you back scoring good points again.

But instead the World's best referee took the correct decision to exclude Raun. But he didn't exclude Raun, did he. And you've already said it was a bad decision, yet now you claim he took the correct decision, even though the "correct decision" you claim he took wasn't the decision he took. Steele lacks the intelligence and imagination to give an "all 4 back" decision in such circumstances - he'll always take the easy option.

Raun WAS excluded from Heat 14. Raun should have also been excluded from Heat 8. Were you not giving tonight's meeting your full attention by any chance - you are making as much sense as Kelvin (i.e. none)

No, I wasn't - it was at Belle Vue, so good racing was unlikely. I was otherwise occupied.

Gjedde's Heat 15 effort was indeed exceptional, but otherwise the racing was crap. on a very poorly prepared track. Next time the Aces' fans bang on about Sky never going north, I hope they take a look at the DVD from tonight...........honestly, that track was bordering on dangerous.
