And Jonasson rides in Poland today, in spite of missing Edinburgh's fixtures against Stoke on Friday and Saturday.

Either the management know full well what is going on and are taking the p*ss along with THJ, or THJ alone is taking the p*ss.
THJ should get an immediate ban from riding over here.

Monarchs Press Release The Scotwaste Monarchs’ promotion have now heard an explanation from Thomas Jonasson for his appearance for his Polish club Stal Gorzow on Sunday. The Promotion and supporters were unhappy to find that Thomas had ridden in Poland on Sunday having been unfit to ride for Monarchs on Friday and Saturday. However following communication with the rider the club accepts that he has been put under considerable pressure, and forced to ride in Poland against medical advice he has received in BOTH Sweden and Poland. Thomas is definitely not fully fit yet and it is not currently envisaged that he will ride for his main Swedish club Elit Vetlanda on Tuesday. Their website gives the reason as “concussion”. He will ride if fit for Valsarna in the Allsvenskan League on Thursday but they have given him permission to pull out at short notice if he doesn’t feel ready. Thomas is determined to be lining up for Edinburgh on Friday though the club would never expect a rider to race when not fit to do so. Monarchs’ captain Derek Sneddon has been informed of the full details of Thomas’s Polish experience and said “I certainly don’t question his loyalty to us, I think he really enjoys being part of the team. I can understand the frustration of the fans who haven’t seen him ride much but I don’t doubt his commitment to Edinburgh”. I'll let you get your teeth into that one then Rico

I would be interested to know, exactly, how he's being forced to ride in Poland, and if he thinks it's worth the risk he could be taking with his health. Anyway, I thought it was against the rules to ride with concussion.

Just what I'd expect from John Campbell, to be honest Rico - he's just desperate to get Jonasson as an Edinburgh asset, presumably in the hope of cashing in when Poole come calling.

Thomas is riding tonight in Sweden, and doing well. Interesting reading on his website – it says when he turned up in Poland it was 50/50 as to whether he’d ride. Gorzow sent him off to the hospital with one of their doctors, where the specialist advised him not to ride. There was a little bleeding, but he was given “two syringes”(?) to stop it, which should have taken effect the following day. Sunday morning, he felt a bit better, and decided to ride.
He goes on to say that the money was an influence, but after heat 3 he felt bad and told his team he couldn’t ride any more, but they persuaded him to carry on as there was no-one to replace him. His website also said he was going to rest until today, which I believe he has done.

Reports seem to suggest that Thomas may have picked up an injury after his collision with Hans Andersen in his first heat in Sweden tonight. However, the fact he continued with the meeting seems to suggest it's nothing too serious.
Edit: from Thomas' own website:
Thomas scored 8+1 for Elit Vetlanda aganist Dackarna. Dackarna won the meeting 51 - 45 with Hans Andersen top scoring (11 from 5).
The meeting however could have ended Thomas's 2008 season after a serious crash in heat 3. Thomas was winning the race when Hans Anderson rode straight into him and was later excluded. Thomas's knee took most of the impact and it his causing him a lot of pain, he managed to carry on through the meeting but is now worried about what damage has been done.
This couldn't have come at a worse time the the Swedish final and junior final this weekend. Thomas will seek medical advice to find out what damage there is and rest over the next couple of days.

What's the betting that THJ misses next Monday's clash at Armadale but is fit to ride in Sweden on Tuesday.

I would doubt that very much seeing as he has The Swedish Junior Championship Final on Friday, The Swedish Championship Final on Saturday, followed by his poilsh match on the Sunday. But never mind, after all you are just jumping on your mate's bandwagon ;D

Looks like he'll miss Poland tomorrow with the U21 final being rescheduled for the same day.
