Ahhh so you did come up this weekend Genghis! I wasn't sure what weekend it was but I guess you didn't want to say hello again nor comment on your visit on friday night ML - sorry we missed each other on Friday. I mentioned on the "Trips" thread that I was coming up. I did look for you on the gate, and then we had to rush off at the end of the meeting because our lift was leaving.

I will blame Paulco then as he came up to see me on the terracing during the meeting and never said a word about you being there

Is you going to either the PL Pairs (Somerset) or the PL Fours (Workington), because I think I'll be at both.

I won't be at the Pairs meeting but will probably be at the Fours.
Can catch up then.

And today the Messiahless Messiahdome should see a feast of facilities as Birmingham are the visitors, which means guests galore, as both teams have been cruelly ravaged by injuries this season. One potential bright spot for the Tigers is that Josh Grajczonek was due to practice last night at Stoke with a view to making his comeback this afternoon, if all went well. Birmingham dished out a walloping the last time they visited Ashfield and while I'd expect it to be closer this time around, I still think the Brummies will be winners.

Another home defeat for the Tigers, with Birmingham's choice of guests proving crucial. Hope the racing was on a par with last week. At this point, I can see Glasgow's fortunes taking a turn for the better, as their battered troops return from injury. And it's likely Glasgow will take an away win at Mildenhall in two weeks time. Poor old Mildenhall recevied another heavy home defeat this afternoon - to Redcar.

And it ended in another home defeat for the heathen Tigers, as a random group of Premier League riders gathered together under the Brummies banner won comfortably enough (40:53). For the Tigers, guest Carl Stonehewer (11 from 6 rides, including a 1 point T/S ride) and Robert Ksiezak (15+1 from 5, including a 6 point T/R ride) were solid, while Josh Grajczonek made an encouraging return after injury, scoring 5+1 from 4. Lee Dicken was a major disappointment, scoring just 1+1 from 4 and Leverington was likewise, scoring 4 from 4. And Anders Andersen's home debut was one to forget, as he was plagued by machine problems and scored just 1+1 from 3 rides. The Brummies were well-served by their three guests (Andrew Tully 7+1 from 5 rides, Rusty Harrison 8+2 from 6 and Lee Smethills 6+2 from 5). But the star was former Tigers Jason Lyons and Craig Watson, who scored 14 from 5 rides and 15+1 from 6 rides respectively. All in all, a hugely disappointing day for the dwindling band of brothers and sisters who congregate at Ashfield on a Sunday afternoon in the summer.

It was awful . And not just the result , as the racing was of EL gate and go standard and the track was bare and dusty . It was that bad today that my brother left and went home after Heat 10 , and many rumblings were heard within my earshot . Something will have to be done i'm afraid as we cant carry on like this .

Paulco, I'm afraid that I think Big Lee will be the one to go. The bloke gives 100%, but you've got Josh and Ross Brady already and don't need another rider of that standard.

And things just continue to go careering down the toilet this season with the news that Shane Parker has been re-admitted to hospital for tests . This has to do with his winter illness and not his recent injury . Roll on November .

Shane's replacement messiah's this weekend are Tomas Topinka at Workington ( he's nearly got an official Glasgow average ) The excellent Adrian Rymel on Sunday against Stoke . And we have Sub's favourite referee ( Flint ) on Sunday .

Well that's my whole weekend's speedway just been wiped out i'm afraid . Look on the bright side, young fellow, it means that the golem Flint won't be able to ruin your weekend's speedway.
