Kev , Lioness has posted on the BSF that Anders Andersen was born on the 10th of May 1988 . Anyway onto Sunday ........oh dear , we're going to get humped again aren't we . Sunday's teams are - Glasgow 1 William Lawson (g) 2 r/r for Trent Leverington 3 Anders Andersen 4 Lee Dicken 5 Robert Ksiezak 6 Mitchell Davey 7 Adam McKinna (g) Sheffield 1 Ricky the thug 2 Joel Parsons 3 Andre Compton 4 Paul Cooper 5 Ben Wilson 6 Sam Martin 7 Lee Smethills Can only see a big away win here i'm afraid as " the thug " , Compton and Wilson all ride Ashfield well . As do the back up riders Cooper , Parsons and Tigers reject Smethills . Even Sam Martin will surely score points against Mighty Mitchell . Nice to have a Lawson at number 1 for Glasgow again , but he's not really a stand in messiah round Ashfield . Cracking wee rider at the former stadium of mince , but not as good away from there .

Anders Andersen was born on the 10th of May 1988 . Makes me feel old (I'm only 27 ) Also, it may be a good omen that he shares his birthday with Bruce Penhall?

As i sat having my porridge out the back door at 10 a.m. this morning , a rain-off was the furthest thing from my mind . But there you go . Two hours before the scheduled start , the clouds darkened and down it came . We had two nonsensical heats before we retired to the bar to curse the British weather .

And it's another miserable day at the Messiahless Messiahdome as the Barbarians defeat the heathen Tigers (41:49). For the Tigers, guest Adrian Rymel did as well as could be expected against such Ashfield experts and Nieminen and Nermark:
1..A Rymel..3,2,3,3,0,2 = 13
Ht 1..57.7..Rymel, Nermark, Leverington, Reima [Ret] 4-2 (4-2) Ht 5..59.1..Nermark, Rymel, Dicken, Reima [Ret] 3-3 (12-18) Ht 6..58.2..Rymel, Stonehewer, Leverington, Branney 4-2 (16-20) Ht 10..59.8..Rymel, Nieminen, Leverington, Reima 4-2 (29-31) Ht 13..59.8..Nermark, Ksiezak, Stonehewer, Rymel 2-4 (36-42) Ht 15..59.6..Nermark, Rymel, Nieminen, Ksiezak 2-4 (41-49)
But the reserves and in particular Mitchell Davey continue to be a concern - Davey just scored 1 from 4 rides and didn't beat a single Comet, while Adam McKinna - guesting for the Tigers - also scored 1+1 from 4 rides, which means he did at least beat an opponent: Charles Wright. I think it is getting close to the time when the heathen Tigers cut their losses with Davey and ship him out - he isn't ever going to cut it.

Cracking meeting today with some terrific racing - Daniel Nermark is a class act who would easily hold down a third heeat-leader spot in this year's watered down Elite League. His passes of Ksiezak and Rymel were out of the top drawer.
Glasgow's Achilles' Heel was their reserves. I think come the end of the month, when they've got Josh G and Ross Brady back and riding at reserve, they'll be OK for the rest of the season.
I was also delighted to see John Branney going well for the Comets (paid for double figures) as he's a great bloke.

He might be a good bloke. He probably is. But he shouldn't ever be scoring that number of points. He's workmanlike, but has no great ability. It's surely an embarrassment for the heathen Tigers that they allowed him to score such points.

What made Branney's tally even more impressive today, was that due to Charles Wright's bike problems he was out in Heats 2-3-4-6-7-8-14. His points largely came off McKinna and Mitchell, but he did pass Lee Dicken in Heat 3, shortly before Dicken fell. John showed today he was of quite capable to doing a good job as a Premier League reserve despite what a certain Old Mongol said earlier this season . In many ways, he was the match-winner.

Hopefully paulco will kick genghis off his computer shortly and we'll have some heathen sense posted, instead of Oxfordshire nonsense.

Hopefully paulco will kick genghis off his computer shortly and we'll have some heathen sense posted, instead of Oxfordshire nonsense. Paulco is currently otherwise occupied watching Taggart. Until that finishes you're stuck with me celebrating the genius of John "paid 10" Branney Seriously though, this afternoon's meeting was the best one I've watched all season. Glasgow put up a great fight, but ultimately they couldn't carry both reserves.
