ML - Don't worry, you'll win this, R/R or not. Which isn't the point, really. Some people care about probity and integrity within the sport. And, as it happens, Scunthorpe have decided not to seek a facility to cover the missing lesser Compton. I call that a victory for the good guys.

We can get off our high horses now , Scunny have explained the situation and are now using a CL guest . It appears the lesser Compton was told after the green sheets come into operation on June 1st , his 2 points and 3 falls were no longer required . Lesser Compton didn't take this news very well and told Scunthorpe to stick their team up their arse - effectively withholding his services . But Scunthorpe , to their credit , haven't abused things ( like others have done ) and are using a CL guest . Which means they will get about 28 instead of the 30 r/r would have brought .

Hmmm....high horse is it. Oh well if you are happy with the shenanigans in this sport then that's fine. Doesn't mean I or others have to like it.
And if anyone believe that spin from Scunthorpe about why they will be using a CL guest then they are naive (sp).

And we do have to speak out about such outrageous attempts to manipulate the rules and regulations of the sport. People who do so, do so for the good of the sport.

You try to create an argument even when there isn't one. I agree that Scunthorpe shouldn't have been allowed R/R. I was just saying to ML that Edinburgh would win this match anyway. In fact, Scunthorpe could have Leigh Adams as a guest for Benji Compton, and the Monarchs would still win.

Had it been Peter Waite or Uncle Len , then yes i could understand the cynisism . But not Scunny .

Crikey. I had a feeling Andrew Moore wouldn't be up to the task of being a number 1 - and am currently being proved correct. I was getting worried when some fans were saying that he might sign for us, thank god he didn't.

Hmmmm.... hoping that the Isle Of Wight do a bit better in a couple of weeks time, I want to see a competitive match not a one-sided drubbing.

Paulco - didn't the IOW match take place before the Tigers were ravaged by injury? I don't expect the IOW to get 44 points, 35-40 points would be OK. As long as it's not a scoreline of 68-22. Anyway, Berwick vs Glasgow should be a good match, although Peter Waite will probably have made another 5 team changes by then. It'll be good to met up with Subedei and Goldmember, especially as the latter appreciates the speedway genius of Hans Nielsen.

That was the day Ross Brady went nuts and scored paid 17 . IOW are woefully weak at reserve , and Phillips aint much cop away from the Island . I would expect the Monarchs to hit 60 in that match . Paul Fry is also like a novice round Armadale's tricky track . Berwick have strengthened up considerably in the last week and could easily hit 60 against us ( assuming our promotion are still dragging their heels about strengthening up ) we have to make at least 3 changes and soon . Your best chance of a speedway classic is undoubtably at the Messiahlessdome on the Sunday where we entertain the top-heavy Comics . Although young Joe Haines is improving hand over fist and a big score from him and we're in trouble . But you'll enjoy the banter of a weekend's speedway in Scotland .
