This week's Sky offering sees the first visit of the season to Bob Dugard's personal fiefdom at Arlington, where the Eagles will take on the high-flying Poole Pirates. Both of these teams were tipped to be among the front-runners this season and so it is proving, although Eastbourne have stuttered a bit recently away from home. This meeting will see Poole tracking new signings Magnus Zetterstrom and Daniel Davidsson, so it'll be interesting to see how they get along. But I'd expect the Eagles to win comfortably enough.

Well that brightened up an otherwise dull meeting. Middlo: "Under which rule did you exclude Freddie?"

Well that brightened up an otherwise dull meeting. Middlo: "Under which rule did you exclude Freddie?" Referee's a cretin. I mean, hardly Eriksson's fault that Eastbourne's advertising isn't secure. Track is a disgrace. Entertainment value is zero - Eastbourne deserve to lose for producing such a shit race meeting.

Disregarding the issue of whether the exclusion was justified or not, regardless of which track the incident had happened at, the likelihood is that the banner would have pulled loose. Nothing to do with Eastbourne's banners "not being secure" - the only way you can attach them is by velcro-type material, so inevitably if a bit of bike "grabs hold" of the banner, it's going to pull loose. They are designed so that in the event of a rider just clipping the fence and catching a footrest in the banner, the banner pulls free of the fence - if it didn't there would be a risk of a rider being brought to a full stop with zero warning.

Every single time I've been to Eastbourne, and it's been a fair few times over the years, the track has always been like that - the worst one I've seen in the Elite League, and very bumpy. Sorry, Eastbourne fans.

Well that is a shame because so far this season the track has been fine and the racing hasn't been to bad either. Such a shame that it all goes wrong when sky are on town. I knew this season was going to well

Just a quick thing that occurs to me about Monday's meeting; was the European Grand Prix a taboo subject with the former British champion? Was "don't mention the GP" the order of day when conducting interviews with the fellow? I don't recall a single mention of his abject showing. And not a peep from him in the Speedway Star this week either? It's a sad day when he runs out of excuses.

He didn't have a very good night tonight at Foxhall either, was seeing "red lights" again , then he went into his "red mist" mode as he thought Misko took him out too wide in a race , so in heat 15 he very nearly put Jarek through the fence taking him so wide, but I expect he thought it was Misko , anyway as a 2 man team Eastie are looking a bit vulnerable, hopefully we can take advantage of that on Saturday
