And the result of today's encounter at Ashfield was a win for the heathen Tigers (47:43). But it was another winless afternoon for the Messiah - having said that, Glasgow only managed four race wins in a meeting that was dominated by Workington's powerful top three. Alas, for the Comets, there's just nothing after Messrs Nermark, Nieminen and Stonehewer. The Comets managed a few 4-2 heat advantages, but were undone by Glasgow maximum 5-1s in Hts 8 and 14. And the Tigers almost had another 5-1 in Ht 2, but a mistake by Grajczonek allowed the Comets' reserve pairing through for a share. Workington really are appalling lop-sided and when their top three come up against other top-liners, they're going to be horribly exposed. Charles Wright seems to need his brother to hold his hand and a reserve berth. But he's unlikely to get either.

Messiah still nowhere near his best yet , but to win a meeting with only 4 race winners is amazing .

I believe it's Grachonek Kev . And what a star in the making he is . To lead a former GP rider for 4 laps , without making a semblence of a mistake , and beat him comfortably in only his 5th meeting was brilliant . We've got a good 'un there . ;D

Looks like "Big Lee" Dicken could be the new Messiah? You have to place Dicken's score into context - the only Workington riders he defeated were Smith, Branney, Wright and Haines. Expect to see a few of the better No 7s in the Premier League score huge points against Workington - Workington's lower order is just terrible.

I enjoyed yesterdays meetings. I think the losing of the aggregate means that if a team still has a chance of winning a meeting they will go all guns blazing to do so.......(However if they don't have a chance and with no bonus points at stake they may just go through the motions leading to some boring meetings)
However it looks like this season at Glasgow is going to very close encounters so the action should be pretty hot for the best part.
Onto the meeting...........
Shane- I don't think we need to worry about Shane after yesterdays performance, YES he did not win a race, but in heats 13 and 15 he was all over Nermark (who was riding superbly) and if the track had been like normal and not suffering because of the rain I think he would have caught him at least in one of these occasions.....
Ross- First home meeting back after injury, and looked ok. His gating is sensational, and if Shane can get him going the quickest way round Ashfield then we have a trump card on our hands here. I've never seen 4 consequetive (sp) flying starts like that in my life. Was good to see him getting his first Glasgow win of the season. Don't care what time he did it in, a win is a win is a win.
Trent- A quiet day by Trent yesterday, after the impressive scores last Sunday. But again I think he did his job. Yesterday Glasgow was all about letting their big three go and share those heats, while firing in 5-1's in the heats when they were not out......Trent Solidly backed up his team mate in filling those middle postitions.
Mitchell- I heard from people talking to Mitch on Friday at the Dale that his confidence is at an all time low.....IT SHOULDN'T BE. Yesterday he got paid for FOUR points, and I will be honest that is 3 points more than I thought he would be getting paid for at this stage of the season. I just hope he does not see Josh scoring big and think he should be doing the same, for I am sure when he drops down to reserve he will also be among the points then. ***Special Note*** Heat 3 to stay on that bike shows he has skill on a bike, i've seen enough of him to be sure that he will come good.
Robert- Again like Trent I think Robert has taken the challenge to step up as a heatleader head on, and although he wasn't at the pace of Nermark today, in heat 13 he showed that when we need him he aint gonna sit back and admire these "Top Guys" he is gonna get stuck in there about them. Good on you Young Man.
Josh- What can you say that hasn't already been said about this young man. Beating Stoney in only his third meeting at Ashfield, and scoring solidly throughout.................All I can say is I think we have picked ourselves a little gem here with Josh AND ALSO Mitchell. I honestly don't think I have felt so much, whats the word i'm looking for, (Pride/Passion/Happiness/Delight) Oh what the heck they will all do, in my self for a good few season now, and I would say it is all because of this NEW YOUNG FRESH EXCITING TEAM.
Lee Dickon Man of the Match- Well he blew his engines up over the last few weeks, and I hope that yesterdays big score goes some way to paying them to get fixed. I don't think anyone should forget that Lee has got a lot of added pressure on him this season to perform and so far (when his bikes are not blowing up) he has handled that pressure and more. Another rider who I cant help but smile for after all the hard times he has had when struggling, in the main body of the team ect ect, and theres no other rider who deserves success than this man.....Management proved right to bring him back in my opinion............***Special Mention*** I have started taking my girlfriend to Ashfield this season, and I think I may have competition with the big man, SIobhan just loves him, I think she could already be his biggest fan. Her words..."He is just like a big teddy bear, I just wanna run up and cuddle him" (When he was being interviewed)
The TEAM- Do you know what impressed me the most about yesterday and also last Sunday...........People have been saying we are weak at the bottom, if Shane has a bad meeting we will be smoked home or away...........well these last two weeks just threw all that nonsense out the window. Shane has not been his dominant self YET yesterday we still managed to BEAT the team that many predicted to by the League Champions, and how were we able to do that...........
Because every member of the TEAM chipped in with vital points. Every last one of them.
Bring on the Monarchs........RYAN WHO??
