Thought this deserved a thread of its own:
Breaking news from Paris: McLaren have been excluded from the 2007 and 2008 championship. It remains unclear whether the expulsion relates to both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championship, but it is, either way, the biggest punishment meted out in the history of the sport.
More soon...

A one hundred million dollar fine. Drivers retain points.

And F1 finally submits itself totally to Ferrari - shameful decision. But what do you expect? Ferrari always get their own way. Might as well just exclude all the teams, since only Ferrari get a fair deal.

Fag sales in China will pay for that fine. Should of just painted the McLaren car Ferrari red for the last few races of the season.

Might as well just have two Ferraris going around in each race. Not sure if I'll bother watching another race this season. If anyone beats Ferrari, there'll just be excluded from the race. It is bad enough when Schumacher was racing, when everything laid on to suit him. But Ferrari no longer have drivers talented enough to win even when things are fixed in their favour, such as the waste of space that is Massa, so know the only way Ferrari can win is to plant false evidence on their rivals. I bet they paid Stepney a fortune for this. Disgraceful.

Whilst I disagree with the punishment and think it's a very sad day for the sport, two things are at issue here: 1. McLaren cheated. That's been proven and the evidence is there to read. So they do deserve some sort of penalty, and 2. the drivers didn't deserve a penalty, and they haven't had one. So in some respects, reading it in black and white, they can't complain.
However, the fight is still on for the drivers championship, and that's the one that is interesting. I couldn't care less who wins the constructors - I don't think I've ever said "Ferrari the world champions" - and it's pretty meaningless to me.
Having said that I won't be watching this weekend either.

McLaren haven't cheated - Ferrari just getting their way, as always. How would a superior outfit like McLaren benefit from some shoddy Italian rubbish?

They cheated so had to be punished.
The punishements don't bother me any way as I don't really care bout the constructors championship, as I support drivers and not the teams. Had the drivers been punished that would have been wrong.

Of course they did! They drew up the plans for their car based on the Ferrari plans. Coughlan's even admitted it. Last year the McLaren was a pile of shite and this year they're miraculously on a par with , if not faster than, the Ferrari.

Oh well, I'll have to take it up with Sube instead.

Because McLaren were highly competitive this season right from day one. And anyway, surely the only way that Ferrari won the 1999-2004 constructors championship was to steal all Benetton's secrets ;D ;D And McLaren would have never cheated. They're a British team and we don't do that sort of thing. As for the shifty Italian Ferrari team...
